Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I was trying to use Kirby's instructions to modify the side marker lights to flash with the turn signals as part of installing clear light. My light setup/wiring is different from his photos. I have Litronics from the factory and I have two set of wiring. One a flexible wire harness and one a fixed connector mounted vertically. In the DIY it only shows a fixed connector mounted horizontally. also, my fixed connector is quite far back and so it is hard to see the wires. Does anyone know if the connections vary? Is the black wire with white strips still part of the fixed connector. Any help would be appreciated.

POST 2Original post

Color of the wires will vary by model year. What is your model year?

POST 3Original post

Loren to the rescue, thanks Loren. Dharn, sorry Ididn't get to answer your PM's, been swamped with work sorta.

POST 5Original post

Have a look at Sandy's instructions (for the older cars). It is tiny bit more work but it puts the wire splice in the trunk where it will be dry. I used his instruction when I did mine (and a few others). http://wa4ekg.home.att.net/996mods/sidemarkermod.html

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Loren - Thanks for your help and direction. I will try this approach and see how it works.
