Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Posted this in the 996 Turbo Forum earlier. Brain fart on my part... I'm getting ready to do my first DE and am a little nervous about debris flying up and hitting the car during the runs. My car does not currently have a clear bra and am thinking about getting one installed. Anyone have experience out there with this? Do they work? I have a couple of small rock chips, will the install make them look worse? How long do these things last? Any and all help/comments is much appreciated!

Seems like I'm always thinking of another bra, but, I guess that's a topic for another forum

Thanks for the reference! I had done a search on "clear bra" and there were several discussions installs. I was more interested in the experience around DE's. I will try over on that forum.

POST 6Original post

I had one installed almost a year ago on my '99 996 - not perfect paint. I'm glad I did. I feel it made a difference at the DEs I've attended, and it looks good. The installation on a '99 isn't perfect. But, I'm 99% happy with it. You won't regret having the peace of mind. Expect to spend $500 for someone to install it; maybe a little more or less. If your car is indoors most of the time, it should last for years. Bob
