Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Sometimes I use all 3 in one day just because I can.
Leading evidence: 'Use 3 in one day just' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Use 3 in one day just' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I need guidance from P Peers please.
I now have a 2006 Boxster S mint 16,000KMS and a 2005 GMC pick up for the winter. I HATE driving my truck every day in the winter.
So should I.
A. Buy a 1999 996 driver 70,000 miles and drive it on nice winter days and keep the truck.. The car is $20,000
OR
B. Sell the truck and buy 2005 Cayene Turbo 80,000kms for $40,000.
Either way I have about the same amount of money out. One I have 2 vehicles the other I have 3. I am struggling deciding what to do.
Thoughts....
But seriously, what are you looking to do? Have a summer P-Car and a winter beater?
If so, do you need a truck (or SUV) to haul things around? I presume the Boxster is your summer toy.
I'd try to keep the number of cars down to a minimum (assuming that you have space + cost concerns). Keeping three cars is extra insurance + maintenance, so maybe 2 would be a better option. Could you not just keep the Boxster and add a 996 C4S for the winter?
Like you , I have an 05 GMC 4WD for a DD(construction business) and winter plowing, and a MY 99 996 that I drive year round. My wife has a Cross-Country Volvo, so that makes 3 vehicles and it works well for me. Sounds like you're trying to rationalize a 911 to me...do it.
I would keep the truck and get a Cayene S. Around here they can be picked up for way cheap.
Personally I have a Jeep Wrangler, BMW 328i, and a Boxster. There's no reason to have just one or two cars, lol.
I am surprised at all the Cayene suggestions... he has a truck
and you have some Boxster thing you are afraid to drive....
had you bought a 911 in the first place you wouldnt be here so do it now... then when you find out how much fun it is, how practical and useful it is, how much you enjoy it more than the trophy piece... you will sell the Boxster and truely be happy
just drive the Boxster in the winter, your cockster will be much happier.... and when it gets bad out, drive your truck. Save your $$$ and get a Gt3 later on, you can trophy this one.
Hmmn... Cant go wrong with a Cayenne turbo my friend. If you despise the truck then Id go with the 2 Porsche combo one for sport and the other for utility. (im sure there is some fun to have in the cayenne too) I own a C4S, a Discovery II and a Chevy pickup and some days i drive all of them just as Jim said...
Good luck with your decision. Its all about the hunt.
The vehicle you drive every day should be the one that gives you the most enjoyment. How about a C4 or C4S for 355 days a year and a beater truck for when the snow's just too deep, or you need to haul something big?
I had a practical car + a nice-days-only Porsche once. That was depressing.
This is truly one of those uncontainable spring itches... Can't switch jobs or wives
cars yes.
The 996 Cab is tempting because it is a good deal... I am driving the Cayenne turbo monetarily so maybee that will help me.
Perhaps I should sell my truck and boxster and but a 340 day or year porsche as discussed. I would go with a 996 twinner in that case,,,I think
Thanks
