Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Reported cause
On top of that it was the first time that my 4 month old daughter got to ride in the car.
Leading evidence: 'first time' (1 discussions report identifying this cause; no attributable repair resolution). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'first time' (1 discussions; 1 report identifying it and 0 suggest it). I run through the gears, listening to the incredible howling sound of the high-revving flat-6..

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

well, in the past two weeks i managed to log 278 miles on my car, mostly highway. i realized this morning that that is more miles in 2 weeks then i usually drive in a month.
now, i realize that it's not phil's level of driving (or not driving), but at this rate in about 5 years i'm going to own a low-ish mileage example of an 01 C4 (currently at 64k miles) so it'll have an average of 6000 miles per year by 2014.
They were made to be driven - you should drive it every chance you get. You don't know what'll happen tomorrow, or next week - so enjoy it at every opportunity.
Ferraris are usually the garage queens, Porsches are made to be driven everyday, in every type of weather.
Same here. I thought that Phil fell off the wagon or something.
On a similar note, I couldn't control myself in NY (1 hr. north of NYC) and took her out yesterday and today. I have flashbacks to when I first got her. Wholly crap, I can't believe I have a 911 and I can't believe it's performance!!!! (110 mile added to to car over the weekend.)
It got totally filthy today, but it's now clean and in the garage.
I've been driving through the snow, ice, rain, salt, grime, etc of the winter. Every now and then, like today, it randomly gets warm and sunny, and I take it out and really stretch its legs. I run through the gears, listening to the incredible howling sound of the high-revving flat-6.. "Whaaaaa Whaaaaaaaaa Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa" - and remind myself why I bought it, and can't believe I actually own such a wonderful car!
Ditto here in CO - I did a run up Boulder Canyon today and loved the sound of the sweet six echoing off the canyon walls. These cars are truly meant to be driven, and life is just too damn short. 996 owners are truly blessed.
Well, I just took the car for a 10 minute stoll.... warmed up the tires and engine ready for the cold start tomorrow morning... it was so nice to drive the car for the first time since November. I'd forgotten how much driving that car puts a smile on my face.
it is my DD, but i work from home most weeks so my usual commute is from my kitchen to my den. so i don't even put in an average commuter's miles during the week. i feel bad for not driving it more, so i'm usually the one that does the weekly grocery shopping, etc. just to try to keep the fluids in the car circulated. but even that is limited to making sure my jaunts are at least 20 minutes or more. really what i need is a long weekend to go on a little driving vacation. can't wait for the spring.
Today was a beautiful short-sleeves top-down day here! Unfortunately, I didn't have to drive far, but it sure was nice to feel the wind in my hair and the sun on my face again
yup, drove it a few miles...60 or so... then cleaned it.... IMO "really well !!"
Like I saw uop there.. I cant believe i own such an awesome car, enjoy every minute as who knows what tomorrow will bring
It was 73* here today but I didn't go anywhere. It is impossible to drive a Honda for fun, so I stayed home.
Speaking of plastic shoes..... yeah, I know were weren't, but it did get your attention didn't it?
I guess no one got my joke about Phil on the
Non directional tires
thread. Maybe it was too subtle for them.
Either that or they were ignoring me!
70+ in Raleigh today. John (Boxster) and Scott (C4s) and I went for a drive in the country - it was GREAT! Just what the doctor ordered - Dr. Ferry Porsche, that is.
Who doesn't love looking at 3 Porsches driving on winding country roads!

I drove my new (to me) 996 home last week in <32 degree weather for over 600 miles of the 1300 mile trip home... What's the deal with you guys not driving in cold weather? Is it the salt/sand on the roads? Last time I checked, it still gets cold in Germany...
well, the car was out today.... and it was sooooo nice to do 0-60 in less than 10 minutes. I love the roar of that engine.
On top of that it was the first time that my 4 month old daughter got to ride in the car. Nothing could spoil this day... although, loading up the car for daycare was fun... It was a lesson in "staging' the sequence... get both kids in the back, the load up all their bags and my briefcase.
I'll have to get a photo with both of them in the back.
I'm looking forward to seeing it. I still haven't managed to actually install my daughter's car seat. I've been enjoying a mainly kid-free car for the past week or so, although my 11 yr old son does like getting a ride to school in the morning in the P-car.
If you have summer tires it's literally dangerous if you use them at 35F or below, plus the sand, black ice, etc. Of course we had the same nice weather this past weekend but the honeydo's were at the top of SWMBOs list. Luckily (or unluckily) my car is still at the body shop having the the new front bumper and mirrors painted. Told me "about a week"..its been over two...maybe I shouldn't have said "Take your time, I want the best job, not a fast one"...who knew it would be 72F here yesterday!!
I drove my 911 to the White Mtns.twice in the last 2 weeks to ski. It's 2 hrs or about 145 miles each way. I finally pressure washed it today (in the 20's) so at least the visible road crud is gone. After buying 4 new Blizzaks this winter, I am really enjoying every ride, even when it's nasty out. As a matter of interest, I was able to back out of an ice covered driveway uphill without any problems.
Too much salt and crap on the roads here... I just dont have the time to clean the car. I dont care about driving it in the slop, I just cant leave it that way.
I have had somthing amusing to drive the past 2 weeks so it had not been to bad.
BUT I WANT TO DRIVE MY PORSCHES!!
yeah, I'm lucky that the roads to my workplace are dry and free of piles of salt... as long as the roads stay dry, then the car will stay clean. I'm hoping to get to drive the car each day this week.
I have this 556HP Caddy CTS-V I have been playing with, the power is like crack!!!
and I don't mind getting salt on it!
I'm hoping good rain to get the roads cleaned up, they oversalt around here.
Yeah, they dump it in piles around here too... most of the piles have dispersed by now, but there's lots of salt dust around. I figure that it's not an issue as long as it doesn't get wet and stick to the car.
Bad Sign...
If you dont get on it once and a while and ride, that mare might trot off alone or worse yet with another stud.
Turn off the ****, pull down your drawers and give er hell man!!
Fit and finish on the 09 is superb, car feels like a rock! feels more like a BMW or MB than a GM product. Recaro seats are fantastic and the handing is first rate. very flat in the turns. The power is unreal. The car is huge grin inducing fun. It a little too refined though, kinda miss the hot rod feel of the last generation -V.
But I cant compare it to a 996 since it's a sedan and the 996 is a GT, different experience.
