Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

There were no manual transmission Accords at any of the 3 dealers I checked with.
Leading evidence: 'Check with' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). To be honest, I had to change a valve cover gasket on my wife's car (Chrysler Cirrus LX V6) We bought that brand new in 96' and could be second in line with Phil for low miles car (has just over 50K)

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I've been driving it all week, shifts effortlessly, easiest 5-speed I have ever used!
Today, I drove my 996 (after giving the battery a boost due to lack of use). Compared to the Honda, the 996 feels like a race car! Heavier clutch, tighter shifter, etc, etc. I guess after NOT driving it for a while, I appreciate it all over again!
I feel your pain Tim! The Honda is a great car, but the 996 is a MACHINE!
I had an Accord my last year of college, it was a 2000 V6 Coupe, black on black.. it was one of the nicest/most comfortable cars I have ever owned and it was pretty fast too..
Tim,
I'm hurt. How quickly you have forgotten me.
AndyK,
I too am a "tweener" (not to be confused with the Weiner') '99 C2 coupe with all the right stuff. '07 Civic EX coupe/auto with all the stuff one would expect.
And my experience is the same. I love drivng the Civic. Feels like a nice gokart. And then I get into the 996, and it feels like a real nice race car.
Then I jump into the JEEP Grand Cherokee Limited with a HEMI and I feel like it is 1970. Then I jump into the Donzi and it feels... well, I digress.
Now We Are Three (or so)!
Yes, you have a Civic..... but you also have a Big Wiener AND a Porsche! I don't have either of those, so I am stuck with only the Accord.
Speaking of big wieners, you and Dave (Coochas) on the 997 Forum should compare notes. He just traded his C4S Speed Yellow for a 997 Orange Turbo. Here is a pic of Dave and his C4S.
HAAAAAAAAAAAA......Tim you are a sucker!!!!
always raggin on my tip and now you are driving an automatic H(old) O(n) D(umb) A(ss)..... yourself
Feels good he driving a auto.... nice an lazy!!
Oh Tim ...I was just kidding ofcourse!!
Umm...
lets see... something about "buying things you cant use" comes to mind
Man, now I know why you wont even wash it !

I understand hating a car so much you want to spend as little time with it as possible...truely I do
There were no manual transmission Accords at any of the 3 dealers I checked with. Besides, it would only be a marginal improvement. Oh, yeah, in case you don't know, I have a 4 cylinder engine too!
The Accord is a great car. I use to have one has a 2nd car a few year ago and I think I will get another one soon. Sometimes I don't want to drive my turbo for certain things.
I traded in my '02 Accord Coupe V6 because it was getting on in miles, and had some issues. I started driving to work, and wanted something a little more reliable, with better gas milage.
I found this Accord Coupe after searching for weeks. This was the ONLY manual I4 Coupe with leather I could find. Bought it on the spot, and love it. When I can't drive my 996, this thing handles nicely, gets 34 mpg, and has a killer stereo. Reminds me of my '87 Integra - on steroids!
White bread is zero nutrition, but it's tasty and dependable!
I have (had) an e36 M3 that was modified, and a WRX -also modified. I drove neither since the day I bought the 996. More power to you guys that can switch between it and other stuff, but I can't help but drive it, even in the snow, to go biking with, whatever...
I am trying to save energy for tomorrow when my wife is going to provide me with another mouth to feed for the next 18 somewhat years....so I let you off easy...but Tim you are living (in the rennlist universe) on borrowed time!!
I didn't even know you were only running on 4 cyl.!!
do you want to borrow 2 from my overpowered escalade?
Anyway it is not what you drive (stick or auto) but how great of a person you are!
And Tim I had a Honda once...it was an Element and as soon as I made a couple of bucks I demoted it to company Wh.re and it did great service as equipment transporter......once the economy comes back on track (if ever) you will laugh at me with a Porsche 999 tri turbo..... and your Honda will be a distant nightmare.....just kidding.....I don't think there any bad cars build anymore....just less exciting ones.
NIcolaas,
You are right that there aren't "
any bad cars build anymore....just less exciting ones
." My Honda is not a bad car, it is just boring as hell. The thought of having to drive this for the next few years is not something I relish.
Tasty?? no.
How often you you eat a dry piece of white bread and go ..Yummmy! thats good!
Nope, it needs something else!
heh
We are going to need a Honda subforum for the 996 board soon!
My wife has an 98 accord v6. It's ok. Drives well and is very reliable. Other than the transmission (which is a problem for the v6's) it's a fine car to drive to places where your not concerned about getting dinged or banged up.
I agree, you have to have a second car... one for the "everyday junk" we do. groceries, mall, dr apointments, trips to the beach, skiing or hiking... There is just no way a family of 4 (in my case) could survive with only a P-car...
I have a Suburban land pig, plus a 4 door Chrysler Cirrus. I drive the P-car as much as I can, but I am always glad to have a back up for days when it doesnt make sense or the weather is bad (like today, I waxed my car all day yesterday in the sun, and we have 2 inches of 39 degree snow? (slush))
BS... I am NOT driving in this with my clean car
As for borrowed
TIM
e... hey he still holds his own on advise and problem solving - jokes and all around good guy......
hmmm 999 tri-turbo ? whats the sticker on that bad boy !
