Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

In addition to the tires (the middle and outer tread will look fine but the inner will be shot) so get your alignment checked more often than you might otherwise.

I am getting my intermediate main seal replaced courtesy of my extended warranty.

If your RMS fails that's about $750, cam cover sealant tends to age and allows an oil leak, may need to be replaced depending on severity.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Air bag light will probably come on so it's time spent resetting it or sitting around at the dealership having them "fix" it by replacing the seatbelt latch, which will work for about 6 months before it happens again.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Looking at a C2, tip with 56k. I am trying to figure out what I will be looking at for yearly serivce. Plan on keeping it for at least 5 years.
What wear and tear issues am I looking at with cost?
Will an extended warranty cover most of these issues?
Thank you
Figure on two new tires a year. I store mine in winter so it seems I always need two tires either front or back. Rear wears out twice as fast as front. One oil change a year does me for the 4000 miles a year I put on. Mine is a 99 so it needed a new battery last year. Plugs at 30,000 miles last year. I also changed brake fluid last year. I do all my own work so it only cost for parts and tire mounting and balancing. I use a local racing specialist for tires. I get tires from the Tire Rack. I don't trust most of the knuckle draggers at the dealers.
My car's a 99 C2, 6sp with 52k. I've owned it since it had 34k. It's also a daily driver.
I haven't been keeping detailed records but I estimate that I've been averaging about $1500-2000/year.
Personally I consider that pretty pricey given that my previous Mitsubishi's and Honda's were probably in the $150/year range.

Also some of the plastics are of typical German quality...ie, crap.
That means the coolant expansion tank will need to be replaced at some point, the hood latch also tends to crack and fail. There's a plastic plate that supports the horn contacts in the steering wheel, this will probably fail at some point which means when you hit the brakes the horn will blow, you might get funny looks from people around you for this.
If your RMS fails that's about $750, cam cover sealant tends to age and allows an oil leak, may need to be replaced depending on severity.
MAF sensor will probably go bad, another $125 or so.

This is the second Porsche I've owned and I really enjoy driving the cars but it is by no means an inexpensive vehicle to own.
Based on the experiences I've had I really wouldn't steer any of my friends into purchasing one.
I do my own maint and parts alone is about $200-300 a year including tire replacements. If done at dealer, you're looking at about $900 a year, not including repairs if your car is out of warranty.

I also got better wear when I had long freeway commutes. Stop and go make them wear out faster.
The more fun the faster they go. (wear out that is) (well they also go fast too,
)
My '99 996, with 30,000 miles, is at the dealer for annual service (I had the 30k miles service performed after I bought the car used with 24k miles), and I believe they quoted me around $600 for oil change, Porsche diagnostics, new wipers, topping off fluids, tire pressure and alignment. Pretty steep price, but it buys some piece of mind. I am getting my intermediate main seal replaced courtesy of my extended warranty.
If you guys get 20,000 - 25,000 miles out of your rear tires, either you have really hard compounds which suck in the wet, or your camber is set to something others than spec. A 996 setup with the specified negatve rear camber, cannot get that kind of mileage out of performance tire. As a matter of fact, the more straight driving that you do (highway especially), the faster the inside half of the tires will get down to the belt. Mileage above 10 -12,000 miles on your rear perfromance tires would be about the limit before the inside half is gone.
In the last 18 months, all I have done to my 99 996 is tires, battery, oil change. Standard stuff, no big deal - about the same maintenance costs as my 00 M5 (which sees three times the miles the Porsche gets) , but much less expensive to own than my wifes 98 E320.
