Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I am looking for some help. I am trying to find some used side skirts for my '04 996. I want the OEM Aerokit I (I believe that is what they are called {see grainy pic below}) part number 000 044 802 05. Does anyone have a pair they want to sell? Also, does anyone know the part number(s) for the hardware to attach the side skirts? I my need this in case the used skirts don't include the hardware. Also, I am looking for RoW M030 springs (only the springs). Best place to buy? Any idea of the cost to have P-car dealer install the springs? Finally, what PhotoShop software do you use or would you recommend? Thanks!

POST 3Original post

Why install only the springs? Reason you don't want to install the shocks ro sways? The entire kit is about $1K. I can't comment on the effect of only adding the springs but I am sure there is a reason the springs and shocks are matched. Maybe somebody has some input on that?

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Dell - Thanks for the feedback and the question. I have read every word on two recent threads and a couple of older threads that cover the pros and cons of lowering a P-car. My car has only 12,014 miles (as of today) and I am not looking to lower the car for "competitive" reasons (currently, no plans to track it). I think the lowered P-car is more aesthetically appealing! OK... it looks "bad ***" great! Don't think the shocks are worth the extra $700 - $800. Now, if my logic is f*cked-up, its OK to TELL me!... but also tell me WHY. I am not thin-skinned so you can call it like you see it. I WANT the feedback from those who are MUCH more knowledgeable that I am about P-cars (which, by the way, would be almost everyone on the Forum). That is how I will learn. That's fair, don't you think?

POST 5Original post

It's more than shocks. The kit is shocks, springs, sways, bumpstops, etc. But I will agree with you....even if it's not for the track is it still BAD A** when it is lowered! With only 12K on your shocks you wouuld be fine, but if you are just lowering the car I would maybe shop around the various brands for the best deal and lowering height you are looking for. I think though that just adding springs but not complimentary shocks will give you a ride that you won't like (picture the ricers in their civic's with just lowering springs bouncing in every bump in the road). My RoWM030 kit is the perfect balance b/t streeet and track. Couldn't be happier...and for $1K I feel I was not blowing the bank. Now, the wife has just given me the ok to buy a GT3 that is dedicated for the track so that (the mods on the 996CAB) will probably be enough on the one we have right now. BTW....my wife does the DE's with me and is hooked! She went for a ride this past week in a GT3 and basically told me that is the car we are getting for my track enjoyment. God I love that woman. Now we will each have a P-Car for the track!!! Todd (TD in DC) just picked up a 944 for the track and the route I was probably going to take but when the wife commands I listen

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Dell - your wife told you to get a GT3 for the track!?! You are one lucky som'bitch! It sounds like she is really into the track trips. I just hope that YOU actually get to drive the GT3 on the track once in a while! Thanks for the additional feedback and info. I really do appreciate it! i think I'll have to do some more research on the lowering issue. Hey, post pics of your GT3 when you get it. I'd LOVE to see it!

POST 7Original post

I count my blessings every day. She is more than I could possibly deserve. I am a very humble guy. Besides, she makes more $$ than I could ever make (her M.D. trumps my lowly Ph.D. anyday). She even told me what color to get.....YELLOW! I was more partial to silver but I will definitely enjoy yellow. Like I said...I was going to do the 944 route like Todd or even an older 911 like and SC or 3.2, etc. But...this past week she went for a lap (more like a dozen) in the GT3 of another owner and she said "that is the car you are getting"......I am not going to argue with her I can't wait for it. I will probably wait till the end of the summer to look into one though.
