Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

32 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Anyone have any info on this?

POST 2Original post

Just unbolt one wiper and remove it, then unbolt the other one and rotate it up a bit (so it kinda wipes the driver's side, too) and tighten it back down. Looks silly IMHO.

POST 3Original post

No, I never had a Honda civic and I dont race a cup car.

POST 4Original post

I tried it in the bathroom once. It didn't work that well.

You're thinking of the optional rear wiper.

POST 8Original post

Those headlght covers are an ENORMOUS improvement. Funny how how there are no aftermarket headlight covers that make round lights look like our 996's. HMMMMM

POST 9Original post

actually, there are headlight coverws out there. nnjr had a car show a few months back, and one of the attendees was selling them. you might want to get in touch with graig ploetner, concours chair for more info. his contact info is on nnjr's website.

If do that you must, wiper vertical place you, wind resistance to minimize.

POST 14Original post

Sparks 259, you're saying that there are headlight covers for 993's or 997's that will convert a round headlight to look like a 996? Remarkable.

POST 15Original post

HAHAHAHAHA, I was going to try add something, but there's no way I could keep up with this champagne comedy...

During HS in 71 I had to start with a 64 MGB. Spent a lot of my money from working at a moving company during summer vacation and winter doing piano and organ delivery's any night of the week for the car. Made a great HS car.

I had the "matchbox" Jeep Cherokee. My cousin had the original HUGE Ford Bronco.

POST 26Original post

I had Datsun 510's in high school. Beat up rat racer style ones. As far as the single wiper goes, I don't hate the idea, but the stock blades aren't long enough for the pass side to wipe in front of the driver. There's room for a 2 inch longer wiper though, and if you reversed the direction of the wipe you could park the wiper all the way down in front of the driver and lose a bit of stroke on the passenger side instead. A little custom bending of the wiper arm could help too. With a little work this can all be done but ultimately the question of *why* does loom large.

POST 27Original post

I added a rear wiper on my 996, but it didn't seem to come off as well as the OEM rear wiper.

POST 28 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I was just wondering as a co-worker asked me if I had one windshield wiper... He got me thinking, and topped it off with saying he saw a porsche in town with 1. Funny thing is the day I posted this thread, the same night I had a dream that I found a box in my house with new moulding/trim and a longer wiper blade with a few other things to complete this mod. LOL My friends old c230 had the 1 wiper. I'm not sure I would do it since I just ordered two new wiper blades, but just a curious thought.

POST 29Original post

The Mercedes single wipers work differently - they're designed to get the whole windshield clean by oscillating in and out while it swipes back and forth. (at the 1:50 mark, you can see it in action)

POST 30Original post

OMG I have seen things that look like that, but I am not saying where I saw them!
