I would also recommend investing on an external microphone (in case you don't have one), a wind cover sock for it, and an extension cord.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hey, I have a 99 C4 Cab and i was wondering if anyone knew of aftermarket camera mounts for such a car? I dont have a roll bar in it, so that wont work.. Any ideas?

POST 2Original post

small panasonic or sony cam with anti-shake and some masking tape

POST 3Original post

I use a Manfrotto suction camera mount. Costs about 90 not sure where you would get it in the US or how much but here is a link to a UK site that sells them. Highly recommended. http://www.b-hague.co.uk/camera_suct...uum_mounts.htm

POST 4Original post

Manfrotto makes great products. I haven't used their car mount but I have 2 Manfrotto tripods and a monopod. They are made in Italy and are very good quality. Manfrotto is sold under the brand "Bogen" in the US.

POST 5Original post

I just checked out B&H and they carry the Bogen/Manfrotto suction grip for $93.95 which is not a bad price. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/cont...ku=5574&is=REG They also carry window mounts but obviously those would not work with the cab top down.

POST 6Original post

Programmatore is on the right track... Check this setup http://shop.store.yahoo.com/cinemasu...wicamonew.html I've seen it in action and it's very effective. You could probably build-it yourself and save some $$$ by outsourcing the parts from B&H. This is a spring project for me. I would also recommend investing on an external microphone (in case you don't have one), a wind cover sock for it, and an extension cord. So you can place the mic closer to the engine around the rear seats. Let us know what you end up with.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

TY Programmatore, that is what i was thinking exactly. I am not sure that can be mounting on inside of windshield though. Fast40th, that unit looks like it would work perfectly. I am gonna hit my local camera shops and Frys and see what they have available. Maybe i can jerry rig something. I was gonna build one myself, but if i can buy one resonable? I really like the idea of the microphone to the back. We did a little taping this weekend, and you definately dont hear to much engine noise. That is part of the fun right?

POST 8Original post

This is the Manfrotto setup I have. It works fine when using on any window in the 996 cab except the rear quarters. I have even had it mounted from the back window.

POST 9Original post

Or try the Pro Pack from www.stickypod.com They work extremely well and are great to deal with.

POST 10Original post

I got a "bullit cam" that hooks on to my camcorder. It's very small and light. I have it mounted in an arm that screws into the coat hanger behing the headrest.
