Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Wondering if any of you has come across the same issue: The section of the dash that houses the instrument pods does not fit flush with the rest of the dash for some reason. There's an approximately 1/8" gap all the way around with all the tabs engaged and screws (behind the warning hazard and faux microphone) tightened. Nothing seems loose and all the instruments work fine, but the gap is driving me bonkers. It's visible from the driver seat as well as from the front of the car (viewing through the windshield). I've removed it several times hoping to find some adjustments which will resolve the issue, but to no avail. This doesn't affect the driving pleasure in any way, but the dash-stroker in me simply can't let it go. The dealership took a look and claimed to have no fix for it. I guess it's my fault for not noticing it when I first bought the car, but how can a $75,000 car have this kind of fit and finish?

POST 2Original post

Someone has had the dash pod out probably to change a bulb and not put it back right. The dash pod sort of pushes down onto guide posts. Sounds like it isn;t pushed down enough. Remove the pod and check that nothing is obstructing it then refit. It's a 10 minute job and two screws.
