Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I use Bridgstone SO2A for my street tires, I live in So Cal so we don't see a lot of rain (except in odd years) I"ve used them on the track in wet and dry and they're great, fabulous all round performance tire.

I was going to simply replace the rear tires with the same, but apparently they aren't available right now.

I do lots of DE events and generally use Pilot Sport Cups if the weather is dry.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I've got an '03 C2 Coupe with 10K mi on it and original Michelin PS tires (18in). The rear wheels (285/30 ZR 18 N1) don't have much tread left but the fronts are pretty good. I am heading for my first DE event March 5. I generally do near-daily driving, not much rain, no snow, and do some "spirited street driving." I doubt I'll make it to track more than a 2 or 3 times a year, if that. I was going to simply replace the rear tires with the same, but apparently they aren't available right now. I'd rather not replace all 4 tires right now but if I can't get matching ones for the rear, I guess that's what I'll do.
How much does the "N1" rating matter?
Thanks.
The "N" rating on tires means they're qualifiied as OE by Porsche. OE tires are made by Bridgestone, Pirelli, Conti, Mich and Dunlop. Lots of choices. I use Bridgstone SO2A for my street tires, I live in So Cal so we don't see a lot of rain (except in odd years) I"ve used them on the track in wet and dry and they're great, fabulous all round performance tire. I do lots of DE events and generally use Pilot Sport Cups if the weather is dry. They deliver amazing grip
Its usually a bad idea to mix tire models on a car as each tire has different characteristics...
Re: the uncoming DE event, IMHO unless you're going for great lap times, go ahead and burn up your old tires, you won't notice the difference and DE significantly reduces tire life. Some believe that worn out street tires actually perform better on the track. When you get hooked, invest in R Compound tires such as Pilot Sport Cups...
Have fun
OneMan,
Can you share some info on the event you're planning to attend? I wasn't aware of anything happening in TX that weekend.
RearBias,
My job is transferring me to SoCal soon. Which organization's track events do you attend? Do you have contact info? (web sites, etc.)

I agree that you should just burn them up on track. as a beginner your not going to need to worry about tons of tractions, just learning how to drive on a race track with other cars and reading the line. brun them up, get more DE's under your belt and then get some R compounds!

socal has some great tracks, im sure youll find out soon enough
Thanks for the replies. It sounds like burn up the current ones is the way to go, as long as there's enough tread to pass the pre-event inspection.
LiveNupe, there is a DE at Texas World Speedway in College Station on March 5,6. The website is
