This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

17 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Is anyone aware of any tuners who produce a chip upgrade/ECU upgrade for X51 equipped 996s?

POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

50 views and no responses? Come on guys.

POST 3Original post

learn how to drive and forget the extra power..or alternatively lose the *****

POST 4Original post

I've seen lots of claims for non-X51 optioned cars, but no tuners for what is already a tuned engine. Are getting itchy for more power? There are quite a few GT2's coming on the market.

POST 5Original post

chip tuning. THese guys are great, they did a friends boxster s and it hauls now. www.REVOtechnik.com call them up and ask them.

POST 6Original post

I made inquiry last fall and came up with Powerchip. They adverstise in Excellance. They claim real gains. Follow this link for the workup they did for me. http://www.powerchipgroup.com/datasheets/2/Por0054.pdf I'm hesitant as this product is not certified by the California Air Resources Board. I'm still thinking about it...

POST 7Original post

Don't do the superchip! They do chips for all kinds vehicles & I've heard horror stories of burned pistons in Porsches. Check out someone like RevoTechnik that specializes in German cars. They do chip flashing so there's no replacement chip. They have different tuning levels that are undetectable by the dealerships & they guarantee their product.

POST 9Original post

Clum, is superchip the same as Powerchip? Has anyone else out there had any experience with Powerchip?

POST 10Original post

Different company. I have no experience with them. Maybe another Rennlist member does. Did you check out their website?

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I am familiar with all of the suggestions mentioned and not one offers a program for the X51 equipped cars. There doesn't seem to be anything available as far as I can tell.

POST 12Original post

^ looks like you might have to be the guinea pig I was talking to the folks from Revo Technik when they were @ JRP (who is going to be the main distributor for them) last weekend, they don't advertise horsepower gains for the 996 C2. I think they've only done gt3's, tt's, and c4/4s so far.

POST 13Original post

I've seen Powerchip and called them myself about a chip. I think they offer money back guaranteed if you are not satisfied with their product so why not give them a try and tell us how it went. I still can't believe that no one here has chipped their 996 N/A?? Anyone?? I guess you are going to the guinea pig here. Maybe there is no room for tuning these engines as EarlyApex stated or not enough gain for them to bother with.

POST 14Original post

^ 996's N/A's have been tuned. its just that he has a x51 instead of a base car. maybe all the tunning that can be done with the chip has been done from the factory?

POST 15Original post

Ooh, did I have my coffee yet this morning???? thankx Deadeye.

POST 17Original post

I know Upsolute have chips for Porsches. They have a dealer in Toronto, I think its www.10xtuning.com They do the chipping for Downtown Porsche as well
