One of the reason why I changed my Eibach for M030 was that I was scraping my front spoiler.

I'm running rear bar only w/stock suspension and love it!

It will work fine for your car, but if you add the ROW shocks it will change the cars ballance for a little more oversteer.

RoW 030 springs installed today. Front camber set at -0.8 (stock about 0) and rear camber at -1.5 (no change).
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

RoW 030 springs installed today. Front camber set at -0.8 (stock about 0) and rear camber at -1.5 (no change). The "jigglyness" is gone and the on center feel is not as "nervous." Ride quality has definitely improved and it looks perfect with a slight rake.
Cost was about $700, $350 for the springs and $350 for the install and alignment.
The 40yr cars have the 030 sways, I think. So all he's missing are matched shocks. Sounds like the US 030 are a decent match...
I need to get off my butt and get my row030 installed
-- it looks great!
The US spring and ROW springs on the M030 are the same rate, but the ROW shocks are a little stiffer. It will work fine for your car, but if you add the ROW shocks it will change the cars ballance for a little more oversteer. I think one of the reason that the US M030 was set up like this was because understeer is safer than oversteer. You know we have to satisfy thoes damm lawyers in this country. Nice look though.
Thanks all.
Andy
Who did your install?
Here in SoCal, one of better known Porsche alignment specialists is Johnson's Alignment. Well, I found out their best tech started his own place, West End Alignment. The guy took 7 hours because in his words, "I am going to take my time to do it right." He has a stellar reputation and has grown his business through word of mouth only.

I did this same upgrade on my '00 S, so I would concur that the springs are of a similar rate as my 4 years and 30k in miles never left me thinking that anything was "unmatched." I am going to have to learn the limits again (rear vs. mid-engine), so I am more comfortable with some understeer. I can always take our GT3 out if I really want to rip it up.
Elton, I can tell you went to Darrin. His work is awesome, he crosses every T and dots every i, damn perfect.
Car looks great by the way, get some tint on those windows and it'll be just about puuuurfect
I have to disagree. I do not think the 030 is low enough, esp when you consider that the price is so close to the X74. I went with the X74 and found it great on the track and off. Ride height is PERFECT and I have to deal with crappy New England Roads!
Don't forget.....most mods that a PCar enthusiast does are NOT based on cost solely but rather on preference. Case in point--exhaust mod!
Jenner, for your $$$ you like the X74 but for some RoW M030 is the way to go. And most importantly it is the ONLY factory setup for those pre 02 996's.
Sorry LVDell! I didn't know it was not available for older models.
I understand what you mean about the price with P-Car owners, but I know personally if I had done 030 and then seen/driven X74 I would have regreted it and wasted my money on parts as labor. Just putting it out there for others I guess, but since it doesn't apply to pre 02 996s I'd be more than happy to delete/edit my post if you want.
I have a MY00 and would love to have the X74 but I can't so my only option (to stay stock) is RoW. No need to edit or delete anything. These are some great comments so others understand what they can and can't do on each MY for suspension. I agree though, X74 is the way to go is you have a 02+MY.
Jenner, couple questions:
- have you driven ROW M030 and X74 back to back? It sounds like you may not have, given your comment above...
- do you daily-drive your x74?
Never driven back to back, but I am sure the X74 is a better handling suspension from Porsche, plus the extra mm lowered look so much better. The 030 loses the 4X4 look, but it doesn't make it look agressive, it just makes it look normal/non 4X4.
Yes I daily drive my X74. In nice weather I drive it to work on a regular basis. I also drive it to the track which is sometimes 8 hours away depending on the course and I took it on a 3000 mile road trip with my Fiancee with X74, GT3 seats and roll bar. It was great. I would be doing triple digit speeds in the middle of nowhere USA and she would be sleeping like a baby next to me in her GT3 seat.
No doubt it's better handling. I'm getting my row030 installed on the 10th (finally), and will see how I like it. My biggest worry is ground clearance. I'm nearly certain I wouldn't be able to get into my parking garage here at work (big speedbumps) w/x74, much less some of the hairier/steeper garages in downtown seattle. There's a GT3 that can't make it into our garage here at work...
Also, I'm in this more for having a tighter, more neutral handling car more than "looks". If the x74 was at the 030's ride height, I probably would have gone w/that instead.
