Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

What might he first check, coolant level is my guess. He drives a 99 C2 Thanks all

POST 4Original post

Means one of the four: 1. Engine coolant level too low -- light flashes slowly (0.5 Hz) 2. Engine compartment temperature too high -- light flashes slowly (0.5 Hz) (engine compartment blower might be faulty) 3. Engine coolant temperature too high -- light is lit; pointer on the right 4. Temperature sensor at water outlet faulty -- light flashes rapidly (1 Hz) ; pointer on the right

POST 5Original post

He may have a cracked coolant reservoir tank...

POST 7Original post

Maybe nothing at all.. I was driving my '99 C2 a month ago from LA to SF. Forty min. into the drive (hot day, going up a hill), my temperature light starts flashing. I pulled off the freeway, opened the engine lid, and saw the coolant level was below the marker on the coolant tank. I proceeded to buy a coolant from the gas station and was waiting for about 25 min for the car to cool before opening up the coolant cap. Surprisingly, the level went back up to normal after I opened the cap so I did not add any coolant. I proceeded to drive my car for another 4-5 hours without the light flashing again and the light hasn't flashed since. But regardless, if the light persists to flash, your friend should take it to a mechanic.
