Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello Everyone. TRG FINALLY has our 996 and 996Turbo sport springs in stock. They will lower the car 1 inch and are 20% stiff that the stock springs. The retail price is $459 with an introductory off of 20% discount. Here is the reply from the test car owner. If anyone has any questions please do no hesitate to call or e-mail Thanks Ryan @ TRG Hi Ryan. I thought I would give you more feedback on the springs since our conversation two days ago, after finally getting a chance to drive on some of my favorite backroads along the peninsula between Woodside up and over to Half Moon Bay. The handling is improved on curvy roads in that I am no longer making constant mid-turn corrections for more steering lock to counter understeer. The front end tracks so smoothly around corners now . I can just aim and go . Milt.

POST 2Original post

Do these work with stock shocks? Anyone else have experience with them?

POST 3Original post

Just to clarify, I am constantly tempted to plunge into the slippery slope, and suspension would be next on the list. However, I am reserved about spending too much because I don't want to pour a fortune into a car I have the feeling I will replace in a few years with a 997 or sooner with a GT3 - smarter to save that money for the next one? Even with a 5 month old car, I keep thinking I should get a GT3 and keep it for a long time, but in any case I don't see my 04 Targa as a long-term keeper. So if these springs would give me some improvement without a large cost, they would be tempting. Again, would appreciate hearing about anyone's experience with them.
