Why not just save some money and have an exhaust shop run a pipe from your header straight out the back.

Saves 20Lbs, supposidly 8 more HP but kiss ur emissions test pass goodbye.

emissions test passing aside, which option would you go with?

I was looking around for exhaust options for my car when i came upon Fabspeed's New Cat Bypass Pipes. Saves 20Lbs, supposidly 8 more HP but kiss ur emissions test pass goodbye.
Then there is the more common option which is sportcats, by FVD in this case. what confuses me is there is also a set of "cross-pipes" sold by FVD, which are identical in look, cost, and claimed horsepower gain (10HP) to their sport cats.
my question to you is, what are cross-pipes?
emissions test passing aside, which option would you go with? (bearing in mind that i will be using it with a set of fabspeed muffler bypasses and soon a pair of FVD headers)

Turn radio to highest volume setting or buy a pair of ear plugs. If you like it that loud buy a few for your neighbors. I don't mind the sound if they were on the track which sounds great but daily drving- youmay disturb people. Without ECU tuning under a dyno there's not much real benefit with adding so and so mods plus you'll lose low end but top end will increase which in the track works. About the only thing is engine will probably run cooler since it's pretty much free flow. Wish you good luck. Wish it's easy switching back and forth from street to track. Regards. Mike
Why not just save some money and have an exhaust shop run a pipe from your header straight out the back. You will have to add a spot for an O2 sensor and you will need to hack your computer so that it ignores the 2nd O2 but you would need to do that with the bypass pipes anyway.
As for the sound, Mike is right. Ever hear an RSR without it's mufflers? Don't even think about driving the car on the street. Either a bypass or straight out the back setup would have to be for track only.
