Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Gents, any tips on the procedure to deactivate the passenger side SRS air bags for 4 foot passenger and his booster seat. The manual is rather vague to say the least ? Cheers, J

POST 2Original post

I think your little one should go in the back seat. Mine does I am assuming we are talking about a 911, right?

POST 3Original post

There's a Porsche device that plugs into the belt receptical and goes under the seat - it's specifically for deactivating the air bag when a child's seat is used. But I don't know the price or availability....

POST 4Original post

I think that device is built into the Porsche child seat. You might ask over at the Boxster forum, they have no choice on seat location

POST 5Original post

Here is a link to the Carnewal web site for an airbag deactivation bar Carnewal This thread discusses the male connector which is needed if you don't buy the child seat with the deactivation bar. Airbag Deactivation Bar Thread

POST 6Original post

You need to install this (deactivation bar) under the pass seat and have you car's computer settings adjusted by the dealer to recognize it. You also need the male portion of the buckle found on the Porsche child seats inserted into the buckle on the deactivation bar to turn off the airbag. http://e-partssales.com/Merchant2/me...y_Code=986seat

POST 8Original post

aron in toronto is correct you need both the deactivation bar and a change to the airbag settings in teh control unit (a PST2 or PIWIS tester will be required for this).
