Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Leading evidence: 'Clean car' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Clean car' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Well, this is technically my second post here, but I wanted to take a quick moment to introduce myself. Having wanted a Porsche 911 all my life (I had pictures in my room as a kid), I finally went out and traded my 2005 MINI Cooper S for a 2003 911 C2 with 13k miles.
Hopefully this will be the beginning of a long relationship with 911's.
BTW - the mouse ears, nose, and tail were for the 2005 Childrens Hospital of Atlanta Christmas parade.
I think the mouse ears would like nice with the seal grey. Don't know about the wiskers though.
congrats. Great looking C2 - go get some clear side markers.
Welcome...you'll be both happy and sorry at the same time as your 911 will take on a life of its own and internet catalogues and mods will magically appear at your doorstep as quickly as cash subsequently disappears from your wallet! LOL
Enjoy
Wow...I didn't expect so many responses, and especially not so quickly! The other Porsche forums are so dreadfully SLOW!
I'll try to sum up the answers instead of individual responses.
1) Select Luxury (the people I bought the car from) were nice to work with. There was a snafu where the price listed on their website was incorrect (a 5 and an 8 were interposed) and cost me some extra, but they cut the price an additional $800 to help.
2) Yes, I just joined PCA and was hoping to get into the January DE event, but I'm a little nervous now given all the comments about DE + engine failure = $$$$ from _my_ wallet. We still plan on doing things with the ATL MINIs group since they are very fun (the BMW group was a little boring, we'll see how PCA is).
3) Given the difference in price between the Cooper and the 996, I will probably not mod it and will consider a trade to 997 or possibly 993 TT in 2007. I'm not a stranger to mods, though - the MINI had Alta 15% reduction pulley, Pilo racing CAI, Iridium 22k plugs & Kingsborne wires, Alta SSK, H-sport springs / 22mm sway / rear lower control arms. With sticky tires on I have put more than one 993/996 to shame in the twisties.
I think I'm forgetting something, but if so I'll get to it later. Thanks again for the nice welcome and I'll add more pictures once the wife gets back on her feet (surgery over the NYE break).
Gravedgr - Contrats on the car, it looks sweet! Welcome tot he Porsche Phunny Pharm! I, too, got my '04 996 at Select Luxury. They were good to deal with.
Nice Mini and congrats on the P-car. My wife has an almost identical mini as yours. She has a 2005 S with British Racing Green, Black hood stripes, and a Black top. No Works items or mods yet. I am moding my Porsche instead of her Mini. The mini is an awesome car to drive but I know the Porsche will more than make up for it.
Thanks for all the kind comments.
We would have loved to keep the MINI, but we only drive one car per day (we work at the same place) and she can't drive a manual.
