Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

3 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

OK...my battery is totally shot. I ordered a new one, hooked it up to my fuse box to get the hood open...all going well so far. Disconnected the terminals and the hose...next step unscrew the fastening screw...sounds easy but I CAN'T GET THE THING TO MOVE!! I have tried every tool I have, use some WD40, and still can't get it to budge. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

OK...called the dealer and told them my problem and they said we have no idea...then I realized...I am not too bright! I remembered that there is a tool kit behind the spare...low and behold...after some elbow grease using the wrench in the kit I got it off...new battery is in...but I can't get the vent hose attached...after doing a search it looks like I need some type of adapter...I bought the interstate battery. Well sorry for wasting your time if you read this!

POST 3Original post

I'm not sure any of us had an answer to your predicament. Glad it worked out for you.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks Eric. It was way more annoying than it should have been. I called the shop where I got the battery and it will be a week before they can get the vent hose adapter. I went to a local auto parts place as well and they don't have one. Can I drive the car safely without it attached or does the car have to sit unloved?

POST 5Original post

Sometimes just venting helps.......and before you know it the problem resolved itself. No need to apologize.....we are glad it worked out for you. At least you didn't decide that Porsche is full of crap, needs to step up to the plate, has ignored you as a customer, isn't what they used to be, etc, etc, etc,
