Encouraging to know there are others who use these all year round =)
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Still not nearly as bad as the guy with summer tires but even studs were not really any better than snows, especially when turning.
I'm was wondering the same thing. You need a
FK wheel Tree
for your summer tires. I really hope you guys get dumped on with snow in the next couple weeks(andys-944), I have a snowmobile trip planned in Irons coming up
Well... I love my C4 - and I love winter tires. But traction ain't nothin' when you exceed the ground clearance.
I had to spend about 20 minutes digging the poor thing out. And I wasn't even trying to go anywhere! Just play around on the snowy streets in my neighborhood.
If you run out of ground clearance your done I've high sided my jeeps twice and had to resort to a winch and shovel, I don't carry a winch in the 996 may be I should
I washed mine after the last snow and want to keep it clean
Driving the dirty Dodge Durango for now till the roads are clear but looks like we have some more snow coming.

I have a shell to put up there with the family luggage. But I will put it on the night before. The racks will come back off after the weekend. Then a throrough cleaning!
I hope to have some better snow pics after next weekend.
Georgetown Lake Eiskhana 2013. Somehow I managed to score second place even though the car is very rarely heading in the direction it is pointing in the pics... 996 representin'!
Yeah, the light really flows over the car like water in that shot. I will attribute my good placing to the help of your road-hugging weight in the car! Of course, that's my bloated carcass in your passenger seat a few pix back helping to push your studs into the ice...
haha! We must be leaning forward willing the car to go, yeah that's it!... I think we are moving at about 16 mph with the engine bouncing off the rev-limiter in 5th gear. - just kidding.
No, really it is amazing how little grip there is on pure ice even with Blizzak's. Still not nearly as bad as the guy with summer tires but even studs were not really any better than snows, especially when turning. I think I did best in second gear for most of it without PSM engaged. (that was my fastest time anyway). 1st has too much torque with my tire setup in that situation. It was very instructive, wish I had more time on the ice to really play with it more.
Yeah it was great. I was looking for your car but didn't consider until I got home that you might have been in your Cayenne, there were several there. It's a bit frightening to see those large porkers spinning around...
I havent really had any picturesque opportunities this winter, plus I suck with a camera, and my Blackberry doesn't have Instagram capabilities haha.
Here are some pics from a few year ago
And a gangster pose to toss it up
As some one getting close to pulling the trigger on a C4S these shots are fantastic. Encouraging to know there are others who use these all year round =)
unless we get snow in March, this is as close as I'm going to get.
the driveway is covered in snow, not a reflection of the cement*
And that's the OEM ski rack on ground in front of car
For all the wide body 996s what winter tires do you use? I put my tt away for the winter and am now jealous of you all who drive it for the winter. I need to do it and get a winter setup. I heard 265-40-18 works on the back. Will those fit on an 18x11 rim without messing up the awd? I'm thinking of just getting some winter rims and tires to swap out.
