Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

11 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

I am currently in the process of evaluating how far I should go in rebuilding my car into a track stripper and wondering if eliminating the headlights is a cost effective effort Along with the lights, is there a market for rear quarter glass and rear window? David

POST 2Original post

ln your avatar it is a MK.2 car, I believe all MK.2 cars have Litronics already so the demand is much smaller than for MK.1 since some of those are halogen and people are interested in swapping them to Litronics. Doubt there is any need for rear quarter glass or rear window unless someone got vandalized and want to keep the repair cheap.

POST 3Original post

list the parts for sale, you'll never know who might be looking.

POST 4Original post

no market...but i'll pay the shipping for you to send them to me,...and send you a 12 pack of great beer

POST 5Original post

Yes, definitely a market. Look on ebay, the headlight units (per side) go for $500 to $900 no problem.

POST 6Original post

Yes; new replacements of facelift headlight units (complete unit) are like $3,000. Each.

All 2002-04 do not have Bi-Xenons. 98-2001s had Litronics as an option, but only the low beam. The high beam is still halogen. Starting in 2002 Bi-Xenons were either a stand alone option or part of the Advanced Technics option that also included Bose. In fact, that is an easy way to spot Bi-Xenons in an online ad. If the door speakers say Bose, the car has them. Usually eBay and Craigslist type ads don't do a good job of detailing options.

Is it one of those classic Porsche 'options' that every car has?

I was going off Adrian Streather's description in his book.
