Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

13 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

This is going to be a great deal for someone... https://rennlist.com/forums/997-foru...oved-997s.html

POST 2Original post

Wow. I'm sure its purty too. White over Black 997S.

POST 3Original post

Begs the question: what exactly is the 997 vs 996 premium (excluding age and mileage)? There isn't a 2004 996 C2S for direct comparison, but a 2004 C4S with similar mileage in great condition might sell for $35-37k. A year newer might be worth a $k or two all by itself. That leaves a couple of $k for the 997 vs 996 factor. That doesn't look like a screaming deal--just a seller who's priced his car realistically to get it sold quickly, not out of some sort of ego thing.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I would compare the 996 40th anniversary (as the "996 C2S") pricing to 997S and not necessarily the C4S.

Mmmmm.........I'd give my left nut for that right about now

POST 8Original post

997's sometimes need new engines also???? I thought that only 996's blew up! Smokin deal. That's what I paid for my 2003 two years ago with 32K miles.

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Some 2005 to 2006 model years suffer engine failure. It was mid 2006 that design changes were made to IMS on M97 engines.

Actually I thought it was only 99s that needed engines

POST 11Original post

Even though I know they just keep getting better and cheaper...I want it too!

POST 12Original post

save the money, get a 996 gt3... that will be my motto from now on.
