Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

The Mercedes dealership I use had to send me a 2nd temp tag, when the 1st one was expiring, and I was in L.A., and the Fedex charge was 1/4 of what I spend, because they get the "Mercedes" nat'l rate.
Leading evidence: 'Use had' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'worst, ups might be next' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Check they still can't find it' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

And to think, I almost used the wheels as an excuse to drive to Miami, see a few friends & family, trade in my old wheels, and mount the new ones.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I take forever to decide on wheels, and finally step up to the plate to buy HRE 841Rs for my C4S...and even spring for the custom silver Porsche emblems..... 3 wheels arrive, no fourth wheel, and no center caps.....UPS has lost them....can't file a claim for 8 business days, and it takes about 4 weeks to make the wheel....I've been waiting 8 weeks already.
Small price to pay next to the London Subway stuff, but it still sux!!!!
that really does blow! i cannot stand UPS - i've had so much go wrong with them. it seems it's just up to the individual driver. if they feel like making the money(they get paid per delivery), then they'll deliver the package to you that day. what a crappy way to do business. FedEx is usually a little more but worth it IMHO.
but HRE 841R's - now that is a hot look!!!
Richard - That really bites the big one! Hell, if you had told me this yesterday, I could have sent yoou one of mine, since I couldn't drive mine anyway! Maybe you'll be fortunate and get the 4th wheel tomorrow!
Wow! that really blows. I never UPS since they have screwed up so bad in the past with. I can't even begin to count how many packages of mine they "lost". I switched to FedEx several years ago and haven't looked back. It is so bad with UPS that I have not done business with vendors if they use UPS or don't let me choose FedEx.
Hope you get it all straighted out soon. What a horrible thing to happen to a Yanks fan
Saturday morning check: They still can't find it. The amazing thing is the size of the "package". I mean, this isn't a ballpoint pen that's being shipped.....it's a freakin' 18" wheel, with mounted tire, and a lot of packing around it.....I saw the other rear wheel in it's packaging at the drop-ship location.....it's big!!!!! How the hell do you lose something like that? Especially when it's sent with another identical box? And to think, I almost used the wheels as an excuse to drive to Miami, see a few friends & family, trade in my old wheels, and mount the new ones.
Have you priced compared lately??? I said this before, the FedEx price is almost always 50% cheaper than UPS!!! And they are faster and better service.
I get ticked off when I have to pay a higher shipping cost and wait longer because some vendor likes to ship UPS. Tirerack is an example. I paid $60 to ship 4 tires to my house recently. In the end, I looked at the tires and decided they just weren't going to look right (front tire 1" larger in diameter than rear, but this isn't the point). I sent back the 4 tires using fedex, and it was $27....
Fedex has a lot of different pricing, depending on your account. The Mercedes dealership I use had to send me a 2nd temp tag, when the 1st one was expiring, and I was in L.A., and the Fedex charge was 1/4 of what I spend, because they get the "Mercedes" nat'l rate.
Richard,
That is really annoying. Wednesday I picked my car up from the garage in NYC and they put a 6" gash in the passenger rear wheel.
Oh well, 27,000 miles and it's the only issue, and for $250 bucks they'll repaint it brand new.
FedEx could loose one of it's own trucks.

John - Is you wife still out of town and were you left to fend for yourself? The reason I ask is because, either 1) she has been typing all of your posts for you, but now that she is gone, you are trying to type... and to be quite honest, your "techno-geek" genes are leaking some oil, or 2) you keyboard really is F'd up!
Is it your laptop keyboard or a desktop keyboard? If desktop keyboard, then a new one can be bought for between $12 - $40. If it is a laptop, then sorry... you are on your own on that one!
I am on the docking station for now. I am going to get a new laptop here real soon. I can't type that good to begin with; add a keyboard that is posessed and you guys are in for a treat.. I guess what I was going to post was that since it is taking longer for him to get his new wheels on we have to wait for picks. Hope everyone is having a good weekend and I will try to post if/when I can; cause I know y'all miss me.
UPS gives itself 8 business days to complete an "investigation" into the missing parcel. If I tried giving myself 8 days to correct a problem in my business, there wouldn't be any business. Today is day 7.....I wonder if they've actually done ANTHING at this point. When I call the tracking agent, I might as well be speaking w/a robot.
At least HRE has said they'd get a wheel out in 5 days.
I can add to the UPS slamming if I may....I sell Enterprise level computer hardware, peripherals, etc. Many of the items I am dealing with involve high level, high dollar purchases that often need to be shipped across the country or the world. I will NEVER use UPS if I have a choice. I have been doing this for 3 years, have shipped in and out probably over 4,000 shipments, and have NEVER [knock on wood] had a FedEx problem [at least when it comes to breakage].
This includes Air Freight with 2,500Lb crates bigger than Sub Zero refrigerators, etc.
Whenever distributors end up forcing me to use UPS [one of their"preferred" carriers], I have a 30% failure or damage rate.
Don't use UPS unless it is something completely unbreakable...even then, I would still use FedEX if it was twice as expensive....no affiliation, just really depend on them for a lot of my orders and they have been a great vendor to me.
We've been using UPS for 6 years. After they destroyed a $2500 carbon fiber wing packed like crystal going around the world, and lost MANY packages of bumper plugs, we have cut a deal with FedEx (had an account with 'em for 20 years), and we will be moving shipping to FedEx shortly.
Carriers of all types lose and damage things. USPS is probably the worst, UPS might be next. FedEx seems to get it right, get it there, and lose fewer. Hope you find the wheel.
We file claims with UPS within an hour of notification by the customer. Whoever you bought the wheels from should be riding UPS's butt on this one and light a fire under someone's privates. Sucks.
Since the UPS strike some years ago, UPS has become the worst delivery service out there. Company attitude, driver attitude, service, pricing you name it. My two companies have stopped using them, in fact, I've barred anyone from using them. We use DHL or Airbourne. They're very good
