Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I replaced the seats, which required unplugging all that stuff, and kept the key out of ignition and had no problems.
Leading evidence: 'Replace seats' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). You can also disconnect the battery and then it won't trigger the airbag light, but you will need the code for your radio!
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I want to remove my seats to vaccum / clean the carpet in my 03 C4S but have heard that it triggers the airbag light. Any truth to this or way around it?
Thanks
Well, I didn't have the key anywhere near my car when I pulled my driver's seat and triggered the airbag light. Under the seat, there is a small box to the front left with a wire coming out the top. If you keep that wire from coming out, you won't trigger the light. Otherwise, buy yourself a Durametric like I did after I tripped mine.
On my '01 it definitely will not. I replaced the seats, which required unplugging all that stuff, and kept the key out of ignition and had no problems. In fact, if you take the seat belt receptacle off the seats and plug it into the connector you can start and move the car with the seats out.
Of you're worried about it, you can unbolt the seats and move them around to do your vacuuming, just don't unplug the connectors. You will need a female Torx socket, I think it's an E12.
Search for posts re: installing GT3 seats for info and photos. There is a plug and harness for the airbags under the seats. In theory if the key is not in the ignition when the plug is pulled out all's fine. But most people will unplug the neutral cable on the battery just to make sure. BTW, just to let you know, if you have power memory seats, unplugging and replugging in that module can be a PITA.
But to just vacuum the carpet you shouldn't need to completely remove the seats and unplug the wires.
