Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

So a couple months back, I started a poll here about how to refinish my newly-acquired 5-spokes. The options were seal grey/silver paint lip, black/polished lip, seal grey/polished lip, or just refinish as factory (silver). Well, I ended up going with the least popular choice: seal grey/polished. I'm extremely happy with it. It took SIX weeks, because they painted them incorrectly the first time. The workmanship is top-notch, though.

Thoughts?
SWEET!!! If you don't mind me asking, where'd you have it done and how much did it cost? Did they provide "loaner" wheels while yours were being done?
I'm asking because I'm having some problems with the finish on my wheels and I may have to have them re-done.
Good choice... very nice! I'm glad you didn't go with the black, which would have looked to dark, IMO. Black wheels always remind me of years ago when you lost a hub cap or wheel cover, what everyone saw was the black OEM wheel. UGLY!!! I have disliked black wheels ever since.
I know, I know... some of you younger guys are going to ask "What's a hub cap?"
i love that choice.
it is one of those mods that take a bit to think about and figure out what is different about your car.
what is your interior - red or beige?
Well the leat popular choice is the new POPULAR choice!!! Those look awesome. I am going to have to go back to that thread and see what I initially voted for.
Who did them? I am going to get my second set painted.
Thanks guys, I guess it goes to show - go with what you think will look right when modding. I didn't want to go with stock silver because I felt like I'd be trying to fool people into thinking my '01 was an '02. I also wanted to differentiate a little bit, and always liked the factory Anniversary Boxster wheel, but polishing the lip made it a little different from that as well.
Cpa4s - The interior is natural brown.
LiveNupe - it was about $500 to get done, but included some minor straightening on one wheel. They didn't provide loaners - never asked - I had bought these wheels and was driving around on my twists (see first photo) while they were being done.
Speedway Metal Finishing in Santa Ana did the work - 1401 E Pomona St, Santa Ana, 92705 - [phone removed] - ask for Mike. I was VERY specific about the transition line from polish to paint, and after three weeks they were ready. I went to pick up, but the guy had made a judgement call on that transition line that was not in line with my orders. So they had to re-strip, re-polish, and re-paint to my spec. They never compained once, realizing they had made a change without contacting me. The second time was PERFECT.
Looking at the before and after photos really gives you an idea of how important wheels are to a car's looks!
Can you post a close up of the seperating line between paint and polish? hard to see the seperation becasue of the color. I think this is what I want to do with my daily driver 5 spokes as well. Thanks!
