First mod I'd do would be to replace the CD holder with a more functional bin.

Any ideas where I can get a set for a reasonable price?
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hello all -
Wanted to post a quick note and introduce myself and my new baby - a 2002 C2. Factory upgrades include 18" wheels, heated sport seats with Porsche crests, seat backs and console in exterior color, Bose, PSM, rocker panels, heated seats and a couple of aluminum look bits. Next mod...clear side markers.
I'm really looking forward to getting acquainted with the car. I'm coming off a 2002 M3 that I really enjoyed and am looking forward drawing my own conslusion in the ongoing M3 v 911 debate.
I would also like to say that I've been quite impressed with this board. Lot's of great questions, answers, comments and cars. I hope to be able to contribute some insights of my own soon.

Welcome to the board - Great looking car. Now the fun really begins....

Congratz! Enjoy your new ride, and your already bitten by the mod bug, so run as far away from this board as you possibly can. Rennlist has a way of spending other peoples money real easy
Enjoy
Congrats! I still remember making my intro post - only June last year but already 10k miles added - I just can't get enough!
Take to an AutoX too - lots of fun learning how the car behaves with low risk.
All the best!
Barry
nice machine - i also moved from an 02 M3, it was a nice machine and i would have loved both, but just not worth a divorce!
let me know how you find the throttle feel between the two. i find the P throttle much smoother than my SMG'd M3.
Welcome! Nice car, nice pics! Not really sure I'd put clear markers on a SY car. I think the orange markers look better than clear in that color. First mod I'd do would be to replace the CD holder with a more functional bin. See? you just introduced tyourself, and already started a controversy!!
To really appreciate the diff with the M3, take it to the track. Have fun!!
Thanks for all the positive feedback! So far the car has been a joy. Ill provide a more comprehensive analysis of the car vs. my 2002 M3 at some point but two things jumped out immediately.
- The Porsche is around 400lbs lighter and you can really feel it when you drive.
- I enjoyed the M3 SMG (so convenient when you get a call!) but its great to get back to a pure manual transmission. It really is a more engaging driving experience.
Now on to the mods!
Palting - I thought your comment on the orange markers was interesting. A friend of mine said the same thing yesterday when he was checking out the car. I'll probably install one clear, see how it looks, and then make the call - clear or orange.
Carrera Mike - You're right, the yellow seat belts are a must. Any ideas where I can get a set for a reasonable price?
Ive read a lot of positive comments on B&Ms SSK. What are the advantages/disadvantages of this vs. the Porsche kit? Does B&M OEM to Porsche?
TIA,
911PSYCHO
Hey CPA4s...I have a 99 996 and just got a 2002 M3 to go with it and wife just nodded her head and said "whatever you want and makes you happy go ahead, I know you love your cars!" So it is possible to have BOTH 911PYSCHO...just at a price of your sanity as I decide which one I feel like driving sometimes (the M3 is my daily driver) and sometimes can't make up my mind. Both have speed and power although I must admit the 996 does shift alot smoother and has a smoother power band while my M3 just likes to rev and it's power is sometimes brutal. But what I like most is each does almost the same thing but just gets there a little differently that's all!
Congrats and enjoy! Welcome to the club...you'll regret it...or at least your checkbook will!
Nice looking car , and welcome to rennlist, Most of the people here are great and more then willing to help you in your journey of mods, I remember buying my car new and telling my wife I wouldn't even change the stock audio system.Well in about a years time , The car is NOT the same 996 I bought, which I think is a good thing. With the knowledge of the people here , there is not one thing you cant do....Congrats on the car!
Welcome to the wealth of P-Car Knowledge and Great P-Car Enthusiasts - Remember Once your bitten by the Porsche Bug, There is no going back... Good Luck..
Car looks great--I especially like the Yellow console and the seat backs....As far as the clear corners, I think the smoked look really looks good on lighter colored cars [yellow, white, etc]...hey just my opinion, but it's your car, do what you want with it!
Best mod you can get: $17 Rennlist membership
you will save infinitely more time and money with this mod than any other mod you could get
Paid my $17.00 for memebership last Thursday...still waiting for my status to change
Also, I went with the clear sidemarkers. While the orange looked OK against the yellow, I like the way the clear ties with the rear light treatment.

911P,
I have asked few places for the OEM speed yellow seatbelts, and they want both my arms and 1 of my legs. No luck on that
I just installed the OEM Porsche Short Shift Kit, which by the way is also made my B&M. Here's the + and - : Pluses> Solid feel, shorter throw(of course), gives me that confirmed feel that it's locked in a gear. Minuses>Way stiffer than the stock/extra effort needed in shifting.
Welcome & Happy Motoring!!
Nice P-car! Welcome to the Porsche Phunny Pharm! It's nice to get a new "inmate" in here! How do you like the sport seats? Did you ever try the "standard" seats?
