Read evidence and context

Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

We've seen photos of debris found while cleaning the radiators of the 996 so I will add mine as well. The common cigarette butts, feathers, bugs, stones, were all there. The prize was this Land Rover badge. As stated in other threads, this should be part of your regular maintenance and is an easy DIY.

POST 3Original post

Did you remove your front bumper or just pulled it out by hand?

Removed front bumper and pulled condensers away from radiators in order to wash away the debris.

POST 7Original post

Nice, i did mine about three weeks ago, not as bad as your picture - but a lot of road sand/dirt. Finally found out where the horns are. Now, I need to get to my brake pads.

POST 8Original post

Do us guys with turbo front bumpers need to do this too?

EVERY 996/997, 986/987 owner needs to do this from time to time, regardless of which version/model you own. The front bumper cooling air intakes on all of these cars is low to the ground and easily traps a bunch of junk regardless of where and when you drive it. And Turbo/GT3-2/C4S cars have even larger openings that catch even more stuff.
