Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

32 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

A couple of years ago I did these mods but never included any pictures, so here they are.

POST 3Original post

Steve, Very nice! I wonder..... if I were to remove the rear seats in my Honda, would it ..... uhmmm..... never mind.... it would then be a POS without a back seat!

POST 4Original post

Looks real nice. Any chance of dies changing the wheel to savanna sand?

POST 7Original post

Very nice Steve. I like the black steering wheel.

POST 8Original post

Looks good. How much do those rear seats weigh?

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 8083465

POST 16Original post

Wow all that space! I took the rear seats out of mine to fit two boosters for the rugrats, plus with the Bose sub on top it's all a little crowded!

POST 17 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 8084344

A good scale-120lbs., just a Griots wax job(trick photography). Good eyes Ed, you are right, that pic was before my rear seat delete. Thanks Ed.

POST 18Original post

I had the 996 shine so much it POPPED - Ziano and a whole weekend of putting on the final coats, I was amazed! It didnt seem to last long IMO though and I used Griot's for easy of application Looks great, glad i could rat you out

POST 20Original post

how much/ how easy would it be to replace a 4 spoke wheel w/ the 3 spoke in your mod?

POST 21 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I bought a used 3 spoke from a fellow Rennlister for $200 + shipping, and a new airbag from Sunset Porsche for $500. In my opinion, since the steering wheel is something you are in contact with while driving, it is a great improvement over the standard 4 spoke, at least for the MY99.

POST 22Original post

How hard was the swap? (I have pulled my new cars wheel off about 4 times, Its a 2 minute job, how hard is the 996)

POST 23 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I wussed out Ed and had an Indy do it. I believe it's very straightforward though, as yours was.

POST 24Original post

POST 29Original post
