Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hey, I'm wondering what models a set of take off 996 Turbo brakes will fit. I was under the assumption that they will fit all 996 and 986 models, basically those with revised caliper mounting positions, but I'm finding out that this is not the case. Anyone know which models these Turbo brakes will work for? Again these are a set of 996 Turbo brake take offs Thanks, Brendon

POST 2Original post

You need the whole setup up. Turbo wheel carriage, rotors, calipers. I believe you can re-use the heat shield.. might even need new wheels depending on what wheels you have. 2001-2004 996tt should be all the same brakes...

POST 3Original post

+1 TT brakes basically only fit TTs which is unfortunate. I suppose they might also fit a GT2 or GT3 but thats not going to happen. The bolt spacing on a 996 NB or 986 is 130mm (IIRC) and on the TT and up, wheel carriers are 140mm. There is no way to adapt except replacing about $2K in parts plus labor. For that price (plus the brakes), people go aftermarket. Sadly, the TT brakes go for nothing because of this. Are you on the buying or selling end? If buying, I can give you some other recommendations.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm selling, actually I've got a set on ebay, and am now about to modify the auction based on this information. Thanks guys, I wish Porsha whould have standardized their bolt mountings a bit more, therefore allowing owners more OEM upgrades, but whatever.
