A large garbage bag will suffice of course, but there are nicer bags out there used for tire storage that you can use.

Why not simply lay it on the top of the car and then drive gently and slowly until you can find a plastic bag or a repair shop?

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

12 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

No, not RMS! My wife had a blowout yesterday and I went out to change it. Once I got the donut on I didn't have anyplace to put the damaged tire. It wouldn't fit in the trunk and I wasn't going to put that nasty thing in the car What do y'all do in this circumstance? Tim

POST 2Original post

Leave it by the side of the road. Or carry a bag for it so you can toss it in the passenger seat. Some tire shops have these plastic jumbo bags available. If the tire was a total loss, come back later and grab it with a larger vehicle to trash it.

POST 3Original post

In a pinch you can call a cab and have them take the wheel to your house.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Big garbage bag sounds like a good plan. Fortunately I had my Yukon so I just tossed the tire back there.

POST 8Original post

BMW has the same flaws with their Z3's. Funny I was just talking about this with my friend with a Z3 the other day. I carry a can of Fix a Flat in my trunk just in case.

The tool kit should have a plastic bag for this. You think it is a problem in the 996 try having a flat in a Boxster with a passenger.
