Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quick questions about audio. I think/am fairly certain that I blew the dash speakers. What size are they and what do you recommend i replace them with? (Is there a fuse that might have blown instead of the speaker because i get sound from all of them but the left dash). do all speakers weigh the same? While i like music, i don't want to buy speakers that weigh twice as much just to improve audio quality. finally: the speakers in the rear (next to the rear seats), if i removed them, what would be the impact on sound if you're sitting in the front seats? would you even notice?

POST 2Original post

You may have blown the speaker, or it may be that channel of the amp that has blown. Have to substitute another speaker to test. You can take the speaker to a stereo shop and find a substitute that will fit. The weight has little to do with the sound. Its the quality of the speaker that effects the sound. And you can tell how the rear speakers sound by adjusting the fader to full front.

POST 3Original post

The weight of a speaker will differ according to the size of the magnet...so they could differ. The rear speakers are for fill only. If you get some good speakers, a decent amp, you really don't need the rear speakers at all. I can't remember how the stock amp is setup, but if I'm not mistaken, one channel of the amp runs both the dash speakers. So you might have a bad speaker. You can fit a 4" and a tweeter in the dash, and a 5" in the doors.
