Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Leading evidence: 'Replace with standard bolts' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'whole car' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace rusted bolts and bought 5 per wheel, forgetting' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Suspected cause
If someone wants the wheels that badly, they will get them, and probably the whole car.

Suggestion
I was replacing my rusted bolts and bought 5 per wheel, forgetting that I didn't need a replacement for the locking bolt.

Suggestion
I dread the thought of a flat, and not being able to change a tire roadside because I can't find the key.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Where I live...there are no vandals.
The last incident of any major importance our local police had to deal with was a report of a stolen boat from one of the docks. In admirable efficiency they brought out all their equipment to resolve the alleged theft. This included their canine unit (1 dog named Beau who is about 25 pounds overweight and sleeps in front of the police station all day and favors Tillamook Strawberry ice cream), and their underwater team for their lake patrols (consisting of one equally overweight semi retired police officer) only to find that the boat drifted lose from the clete and floated by itself to the middle of the lake.

If you run AutoX or De's, you're frequently retorquing your wheel bolts. The process goes much faster if you don't have to mess with that special socket on the 4 locking bolts.
That is the one thing I hate. I just need to pick up 4 more bolts for the DE days (haven't got around to it). I changed my wheels out for the track so I would just leave out the locks and replace. Time to go buy 4 bolts!
I took mine off because my new wheels didn't have the clearance for the security socket to fit. I have to use thin walled sockets to get to my bolts.
My wheels are inexpensive knockoffs that I am hoping any thieves will know before they go stealing them.
But I think the reality is that Porsche wheels are not that desireable to steal because of their funky offsets. They don't fit too many other cars and that's the name of the game in stealing stuff. Have to have a big market to sell into so you can unload the goods fast.
That's why I am always more worried about my daily driver being stolen as opposed to whatever relatively limited numbered exotic I own at the time.
I've always wondered where you're supposed to put the special socket to remove the locking bolts. Leave it in the car and vandals break the window and use it to steal your wheels. Leave it at home and you've got trouble if you get a flat.
LVDell,
I have four extra bolts if you want them. I was replacing my rusted bolts and bought 5 per wheel, forgetting that I didn't need a replacement for the locking bolt. PM me your address and I'll send 'em out.
Tim
Thanks for the offer Tim, but I forgot to specify that I have the 5MM spacer kit on my car so I have to order the longer bolts.
Very kind gesture though!
Most sophisticated wheel theives already purchased the keys from porsche, they only actively use 10 different ones, all readily available at your local dealer.
I got rid of mine because they are a nuisance. I dread the thought of a flat, and not being able to change a tire roadside because I can't find the key. As far as I'm concerned, that's what insurance is for. If someone wants the wheels that badly, they will get them, and probably the whole car. S
