1 last question - what wattage bulb did you use - i've been given 3 options

Hi
the lcd backlight has gone on my instrument pod - where the digital speedo is
does anyone have and experience or knowledge of whether this is a simple replacement job or will require replacement of the whole pod?

Prise out the hazard switch and the none-existent microphone cover using a butter knife.
There are two torque screws behind them. Then lift up the whole dash pod.
Carefully slide out and remove the hazard switch and lean the dash pod towards you over the steering wheel (suggest putting a towel over to stop scratching).
Behind the dash pod there are 3 connectors White, Black and Blue. Remove these and the pod will lift out. The bulbs twist out easily.
It's an extremely easy job. 10 minutes max.

ps - is your car zenith blue?
Not sure what the bulb wattage is. I just took the bulbs down to my local OPC and they sold me some over the counter. If you want part numbers, ask Loren on renntech.org.
It is not a sealed unit. If it was you would not be abel to change the dash dials for diff colour.
Prety much everything in that dash pod has a part number including the plastic screen that
fits in the front. So it isn't sealed.
I don't knw who HR Owne is but your local OPC will have the bulbs.
