Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Can anyone suggest a good source for a rear shelf subwoofer? Any online retailers? Dealers?

POST 2Original post

I have a box that will hold 2 6" subs that is trimmed out in black and sits on the back shelf...sounded good in my old 996...I just need to get the digi camera out to take pics....let me know if you are interested. The subs are down firing [so you can't see them from the top] and have 2 seperate internal rectangular air spaces. I had JL 6W0 subs in there and they sounded great..now have the subs individually mounted behind each front seat in individual tiny boxes.

POST 3Original post

I'm casually looking for one as well. I found this site a while back but never got around to calling them for more info. http://www.caraudioinnovations.com/porsche.htm

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks. The system on the site looks great, particularly the unit for the rear shelf. But it is somewhat overpriced IMO.

POST 5Original post

Yeah they do look nice and seem to be decent quality construction and components. The low end one for $699 uses JL 6.5" drivers which are about $90 to $100 each so that's about $400 for the box and carpet. I've never seen or heard one of those setups though.

POST 6Original post

The JLs in my 993 are set in boxes like the ones on that website, but they are rectangular and lie at an angle [the 993's footspace is smaller]. I have to say that it is incredible the amount of bass response that I get out of these 6.5" JL woofers. It sounds better than the 12" that I used to have in my old Jetta.
