Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I bought these used from another member and never got around to putting them on.
Leading evidence: 'Use from another member and never got around' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check over completely' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I dropped them off at JIC to be checked over completely, and to make sure the would fit up to my C2.

JIC offered to replace the front shocks for $250 each, which will make the front set like new operationally.

The current condition is that the shocks are in as-expected shape for a set with 15,000 miles (a bit over a year on the car), and perfectly operational.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Selling a set of JIC Cross Coilovers for a 996 C2. I bought these used from another member and never got around to putting them on. JIC has told me that these will work on a C2, but they came off a C4, so they are compatible with both. They are not in the prettiest of shape as they went through one winter season....I will post pics later. These have the 7K/10K spring setup.
These are usually around $3K or more for the setup...the good news is that I am selling these for $1050 OBO, a smoking deal for a great coilover setup. Do a few searches to see how people are liking this setup for track or serious street duty.
The bad news is that while they are operational, they need some work to make them perfect and robust. I dropped them off at JIC to be checked over completely, and to make sure the would fit up to my C2. JIC informed me that while everything currently works, the front shocks have some play and scarring on the shaft, which indicates that they require replacement of the shock assembly to "make right" as problems will pop up in the near future as-is. They will work, but again, it is a matter of time before they would need repaired if installed like this....definitely worth doing this up front if you are paying someone else do the install. JIC offered to replace the front shocks for $250 each, which will make the front set like new operationally. The rears are ok as-is, but if you wanted a rebuild while the fronts are being worked, I believe that cost was $150 each.
I had decided to sell these even before learning of the required rebuild as I decided I want more of a street than track setup, I just wanted to get them checked out before putting them up on the board....glad I did. I think you can still get in this setup for a great price, even if you go through with the rebuild.
I am looking for local pickup at this point (I could meet anywhere in SoCal), but will consider shipping if they do not sell in the near future. I will post pictures later on, PM me if you have any questions.
UPDATE: I stopped by JIC to pick up the suspension and discuss the current condition with these guys in person. The information from yesterday was based on some miscommunication between us. The current condition is that the shocks are in as-expected shape for a set with 15,000 miles (a bit over a year on the car), and perfectly operational. The play in the front that was noticed previously was taken out with proper adjustment to the setup. The JIC guys believe that these are fine to put on a car, but just to be aware that they do have 15,000 miles on them, so you would need to keep an eye on them for the normal wear and tear associated with the mileage-it still might make sense to get them rebuilt at this point as they are off the car, but this is not a necessity. The only thing really notable was a scar in the shaft on one of the fronts, which was apparently due to a piece of grit being caught on the shaft at some point, but this does not effect the operation at this point.
Another note: I must say I have been happy dealing with the JIC guys. They seem to really know their stuff, and have the ability to do custom valving on each shock to fit your application, which I believe could be done if you bought these and got them rebuilt, the seemed like they were willing to work with the customer. It is really great for anyone in LA/OC as they are local.
I will leave the price where it stands, and I will consider reasonable offers. Shoot me a PM if you are interested. Pics will be coming later.
Here are the pictures, again, these are not really cleaned up. I am sure they could be made to look better with a bit of detail TLC, I haven't had time to do that. The two sleeves (included) in the picture are all that are required to fit the 996 widebody...they are off, so ready to bolt up to a C2 at this point. If you want to fit to a C4, you just need a set of adjustable droplinks and to slide the sleeves on and you are good to go. Please PM with any questions.
