I have UCoat-It and used the anti-slip in my garage.

For anti-slip look into one of the tiles that allows the water to go under it something like Race Deck or look into the texturized concrete treatments that are commonly used on patios, or one of the epoxy floor paints with added anti-slip.

That is what I was going to use but wanted to clarify.

The look could be consealed if you used flaks in the coating (which I did not).

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Got a total of 14 boxes with a coverage of 630 square feet. Armstrong Excelon Industrial tile 1/8 thickness 12x12. Went with a color scheme to match the house. Body color is light gray and the trim is a dusty purple. You can get at Lowes or Home Depot.
Total cost after tax was $404.00. One container of adhesive $15.02. One container of floor leveler for the seams $8.45.
Now to have a good weekend to empty out the garage and put the tile down.
Just figured I would pass this info on.
Will do. I just think the cost is so low and the long term maint. is so good that this will rock.
My floor was due for a repaint and the epoxy paint to do my garage would have cost $270. I have had to redo the paint every few years to keep it fresh looking.
Did mine over a year ago and love it. Armstrong tiles from Home Depot. Very easy installation, just follow the directions and use the primer that they recommend. I damp mop with floor wax about every 3 months. Good luck.

How long did it take to do the floor? WHat did you do about the seams between the concrete slabs?
Looks cool. I can't wait to get this project started.
Living in the NE, I wonder how that will hold up against water from snow/rain and worst of all rock salt. Has anyone used these in cold weather climates?
I wouldn't use a jack directly on the floor. I have small pieces of plywood (2' x 2') I put under the jack and stands. It holds up great to oil and antifreeze (haven't tried gasoline). Also, about once a year I reseal it by putting on about 10 coats of polish and use one of those electric floor buffers (rented at Home Depot).

Tim, It took a weekend start to finish. It's amazing how fast it goes once you get started. To fill the joints in the concrete they sell a filler for cracks. It's there with all the tiles. Like everything else buy more than you think you need. Also, If you are putting baseboard trim on, don't get the ones that come in a roll, they're junk, get the 3' rubber ones. PM me if you have any problems.

Thanks. That is what I was going to use but wanted to clarify. I am struggling with the base board componans because I have the felt type spacer between the wall and the floor concrete. And the hieght of the concrete edge is higher than the base board rubber.
You have any pictures of where the base is next to you wall etc?
Am I making sence?
I want to put something down in my garage before next winter to prevent slips and falls. My mother already, almost kiled herself in a slip and fall and need to do something. How does it perform with standing water on it? Does it cut, scratch or dent easily? I'll be storig lawn equipment and other garage stuff in there too so I need it to be pretty durable. Thanks for the info btw.

Bobby,
I don't think these type of tiles are what you want for anti-slip. They are similar to what you see used on the floors of stores like Target, K-Mart, Walmart, etc. As you probably know they get very slick when wet.
For anti-slip look into one of the tiles that allows the water to go under it something like Race Deck or look into the texturized concrete treatments that are commonly used on patios, or one of the epoxy floor paints with added anti-slip.
I have UCoat-It and used the anti-slip in my garage. The anti-slip material works amazingly well. The biggest negative to it is that it makes it a little more difficult to clean and it looks like there is specks in the floor where it is located. The look could be consealed if you used flaks in the coating (which I did not).
You painted the concrete ledge, right?. I also placed my tiles in 2'x 2' squares. I felt 1' x 1' was a little too busy. A word of caution. When pulling into the garage, stop gently, fast stops will slide the tiles. Looking forward to pix. Good Luck.

Tom:
One more quick question. THe instructions on the adhesive says to spread it then allow to dry for 30 min or until slightly tacky. This will significantly sloww down the laying process. What did you do? Lay down the adhesive and go? I think that is where I will go with that.
No, do what the directions say. What I did was snapped a chalk line down the center and one 90 degrees on that (that divided the garage into quarters). Spread the adhesive in one of the quarters and let it set up, (it will go from opaque to clear) it will stay tacky for a LONG time so you don't have to rush. Laying the tiles will go quickly.
Cool. Was there an issue with walking on the adhesive to get to the back corner to start laying tile?
And once again your advise has been invaluable.
