Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Im fairly mechanically inclined--Ive changed intakes, headers, and other items on previous cars.
Leading evidence: 'Replace intakes, headers, and other items' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace intakes, headers, and other items' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

So Friday night I started my PSE install at 830pm!!!
Well I stopped around midnight and needed another 40 mins sat morning to tighten up and double check everything.
The install itself is pretty straight foward. Im fairly mechanically inclined--Ive changed intakes, headers, and other items on previous cars.
You definitely do need ratchet extensions, swivel ratchet, and a universal joint socket. I have power tools (ie compressor) but didnt used them. I printed out the standard instructions and follwed them.
First there is little or no room --a very tight fit.
Loosening bolts is a little trickey on the bracket but patience will prevail.
The hardest part is removing it --this is where i jacked up each respective side and needed a few more inches of room to maneuver. I didnt remove the rear wheels but that would have prolly helped.
Next hard part pushing/lifting the new one in. Picture this you are on your back lifting 30 pounds above your head and pushing/tilting the new muffler into place. It takes a while but it goes in eventually!!!!
Tightened everything up and went to the passenger side.
The bolts here are harden to access --like u can move the ratchet 1 inch --so it takes some time. After that it more or less the same as before so becomes somewhat easier.
All in all not too bad its just nuts and bolts --no trim panels or crazy stuff (soldering/ machine work or the like).
I took it slow and steady and it just took time.
OK the results:
AWESOME---sounds great!!!!! Burbling--rumbling--generally real throaty but not too loud to upset the neighbors---I babied out of my garage on Sunday morn at 7am to get coffee and it was fine.
BUT THE FIRST THING TO DO: Get on it thru a tunnel on underpass---PURE BLISS!!!!
Any questions feel free to fire away

Grizzy,
I'm sure I'm less mechanically inclined than you - no previous engine work or headers. I backed the car up on ramps to be sure I wouldn't be wearing C2 headgear. I thought I was going to have to go out and buy the ratchet extension and swivel, but I got to all the bolts with a regular ratchet and socket by coming in to them from the side!
Hoisting that heavy muffler over my head and fitting it in was the scariest part for me!
Please excuse my novice ignorance, but is this the same as the Porsche option, and if so, is there a rocker switch to activate, or is a permanent muffler replacement/sound?
Thanks
Yes same as OEM part---Installing the rocker switch requires you to remove interior trim and electronics which takes 4+ hrs at the dealer himself--so DIY makes that harder--by default the muffler is set in the "open" position --so thats why the mod is so popular
Mike
riad,
No sir! The car was backed up onto ramps. The wheels stayed on the car. Getting to the bolts from the side had nothing to do with whether the wheels were on the car or not. The wheels interfered (a bit) with manuvering the old muffler out, and the new one in!
