Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

As I am finally nearing my decision to pull the trigger on one of the remaining 40th Anniversary cars, I was wondering whether anyone has had an engine replaced in their 996 with the X51 package due to the RMS issue. If so, how did the process go and how can you be sure that the replacement engine also had the X51 package? Was just curious. TIA

POST 2Original post

There is a seperate part number for replacement 40th X51 engines. As of right now the part they would need to order is 996-100-996-YX.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

phaedrus242: Thanks for the info. Does that part number actually represent a different engine (i.e. the 345 HP configuration?)

POST 4Original post

Yes, that'll have all the X51 parts factory installed. That way it will plug in and run with your existing engine management parameters.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

That is good to know and I appreciate your quick and clear response.
