Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

My 01 Cab currently has a Fabspeed CAI and GHL "regular" exhausts. I recently purchased an EVO intake from the new Brandywine Performance center (cheapest I could find the intake) so then I thought I'd also try the mod to the existing factory exhausts.
Hopefully this weekend I will put in the new CAI and the factory modded exhausts and see if it sounds any different. I'd like a little more growl, but had a set of Fabspeed mufflers that I took off prior to the GHLs. Maybe something inbetween would be nice without having to pay the PSE price...
I'll write back and let folks know how it turned out !
The guys at the exhaust place put the widest pipe they could onto the exhaust - we'll see what it sounds like!!
I actually do like the sound of the GHLs...just looking for something that sounds more like a PSE and for $100 to mod the exhaust I figured it would be worth at least trying .... who knows, I still might like the GHL's after all is said and done. It only takes about 30 minutes to switch out the exhausts so its worth the try!
Stan - Was the stock cans modded louder that the GHL exhausts? what I don't want is something that sounds like the Fabspeeds with the deeper rumble.....
Thanks,
Will
There's a pic in my first post of the exhaust. Basically I had the shop cut out the nipple on the bottom of the can and put in the largest diameter pipe they could put onto the pipe attaching to the exhaust tip. I think this is how most folks are doing the mod?
THanks,
Will
Well, the stock exhaust mod was a complete waste of time when compared to the GHL normals. Even with the mod it was just too quiet...I've have the GHL's on for so long I don't exactly remember what the stock mufflers sounded...just the modded ones were not that much louder. At least I can get them on and off within a hr, so I didn't waste too much time!
The EVO intake sounds great...a little different than the fabspeed intake in sound...might make the engine a hair louder when you step on the gas....
Is the picture above from a modded 3.4? Looks a lot like a 3.6 and I was under the impression that they are vastly different and the "DIY PSE Mod" is different for the 3.6 vs. 3.4. I am looking for a "how to DIY 3.4 PSE". I did try searching, but all I was able to find was the 3.6 variety.
Its a modded 3.4 can - the mod is no different between the two. I think what the consensus is that the 3.6 cans sound "better" modded than the 3.4 cans...but you can do the same thing to either muffler....
