Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

I used it to bleed/flush my clutch slave and it worked great.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi, I have seen the DIY guide from Loren as for changing the brake fluid. I want to fluch the entire sytem and replace with a new fluid. My local shop has a vacuum pump where you connect the hand pump directly to the bleeding valve on the caliper. When you pump, it will suck the old fluid, insead of pushing new fluid from the reservoir as it does with the Bleeder shown on Loren guide. Can I use my local shop hand pump and always make sure the reservoir is full when pumping ? Does the guide applies the same way ? Start with the right rear wheel and always do the outer bleeding valve first ? Thanks

POST 2Original post

I have a pneumatic fluid extractor that i use to suck oil on my MB (per technical service bulletin) . It also comes with an attachment with seperate hose that fits on bleeders. I used it to bleed/flush my clutch slave and it worked great. I plan on trying it out on the brakes next time i need to do a bleed.

POST 3Original post

My understanding is that flushing your brake fluid on a car w/ ABS is not a complete flush as there is still fluid in the ABS pump that can only be extracted with special equipment that will pump out the fluid in the ABS system for you.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
