I sincerely hope that I do not need to play with the wiring on this car, I would much rather just check the sensor as I had said I checked all the other items.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi, I have checked the bulbs, fuses, fine tuned the in car B&M short shifter, with no luck in getting the reverse lights to work. I just recently bought my 00 with a manual 6, and I hadn't really paid attention before but I'm just not sure if they had worked when I bought the car??

POST 2Original post

Here's a good tip to remember before you ever buy a used car again (or new for that matter): run through a detailed diagnostic list to ensure that everything on the car 'seems' to be working correctly. At that point, you can ask the dealer/private seller what's going on if something seems amiss. That said, to answer your question, the rear lights activate when you put the car in reverse by pushing the gearshift all the way to the left and then all the way forward (I know you know this but just making sure). If they are not illuminating, I suggest you start with the fusebox first to ensure that it is not tripped. If that looks good, then your next option will be to...that's right...check the rear bulbs. At that point, if everything looks like it should be operating properly, it's time to check the wiring and very likely conact your Porsche service tech or independent shop. Good luck.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thank you, for the dead on answer. I wanted to check it out but my car is custom suspensioned, and tucked with rolled fenders. So lolligaging is not an option. Best wishes for the holiday! Thanks.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the walkthrough. I sincerely hope that I do not need to play with the wiring on this car, I would much rather just check the sensor as I had said I checked all the other items. Thanks and have a good Holiday.
