Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

After the clay bar, I noticed that the paint did not need any real attention (like my 996 did, it had a gazillion swirl marks) so I used Wolfgang Pre-Sealent Paint Enhancer.

I found one additional, but not well known, use for the cup holders.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

OK, I know the "Pic Rule" here, (hell, I helped write it) so I thought I should post some pics.
Washed, clay bar treatment, polished with a pre-sealent paint enhancer and, finally, one coat of Rejex.
Just out of curiosity, which of those products can I use to make my 996 look like that!? :P In all seriousness, beautiful car though, it looks amazing!
Ok enough with the niceness - we need to bust him for not having a 996
Hey Tim, no rear wiper, sidepipes, flames or "hot babe" hood ornaments
What gives
Yes, it is really that different. The 997.1 is a little different from the 996, but the 997.2 is a lot different. The 3.8L 9A1 engine really likes to rev.
The PASM suspension is great, firm but comfortable in normal mode and tight and stiffer in Sport mode. The car feels more planted in high speed corners than my 996 did, and I never felt the 996 was bad in the corners. The Nav with touch screen is sweet and very user friendly.
It will get another coat in about 3 weeks and then she will be protected for Winter. I am trying not to be so **** about keeping this one spotless like I did the 996. I am working my way up to "drive it like you stole it" mode.
Thank you!
After the clay bar, I noticed that the paint did not need any real attention (like my 996 did, it had a gazillion swirl marks) so I used Wolfgang Pre-Sealent Paint Enhancer. Good stuff! It deepens the look of the paint. Then a coat of Rejex.
BTW, I really like the Wolfgang Tire Gel. It goes on shiny, but after it drys completely, the glossy look is gone and the tires look very dark.
Thank you. See the post immediately above for the products I used.
I applied the pre-sealant enhancer with my Porter Cable dual action (DA) 6" polisher and removed the haze with a 10" padded DA buffer.
I applied the Rejex by hand and removed it with a terry cloth bonnet on the 10" buffer and then followed up with a microfiber bonnet on the 6" PC polisher. I put a sheep skin pad on the 6" polisher then slipped the microfiber bonnet over the pad. This gives give some cushion under the microfiber bonnet.
The terry cloth does a good job of removing the dry sealant because the longer threads (compared to the microfiber threads) grab the sealant. the microfiber bonnet then completes the job and buffs to a nice shine.
Joaquin,
Yes I do like the colored center caps, but this car came with the Black & Silver crests on the center caps. I think they look good with the Meteor Gray Metallic paint. In time I may change them out for colored caps.
I don't know yet. The PSE mufflers I ordered from Suncoast are due to be delivered tomorrow (Thursday 10/6). The PSE is scheduled to installed next Tuesday by my local dealer.
Once they are installed, I will post my opinion on the sound.
I was waiting for that email to arrive.
I can't wait to hear it. The car is looking seriously sexy. Leave the black center caps, they look good on grey and white.
Sorry I was slow off the mark in seeing this thread, but I'm in the middle of shopping for snowshoes for the M3... this is taking way longer than I anticipated.
Phil would be proud of you.
Same here.
The only reason the M3 is getting snow shoes is that I don't want to put them on the 996 and my wife refuses to let me steal her car if we get snow.
Ferd,
A Big Gulp would probably fit in the cup holders but I don't know how long it would stay there. The cup will only slide in the holder about 3", so most of the cup is above the holder, which makes the drink top heavy.
I found one additional, but not well known, use for the cup holders. Since they are located slightly left and right of the passenger seat, they make great stirrups.
Sounds like quite a ride!
I wish my car had something like PASM where on the track it could adapt but on the streets it's fairly comfortable.
Enjoy it!
