Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I know, I know use the search feature. Thanks.
Now that we got that out of the way.
I just want a simple yes or no is the 2010 GT-3 shifter worth the $179.00 over the regular 997 one? i don't like the SSK nor the B&M so I want just a bit shorter throw and I am not tracking the car. It is my semi DD and all I am looking to do is minimize the row boat feel, LOL.
After reading buch of posts basicall looks like 2010 GT-3 and 997 shifter are identical except for metal bushings. For $200 that is some expensive metal. The concern I have is vibration and tranny noise with the metal and basically is there evean a difference you can feel?
Ready to order so please give me some feedback, thanks guys.
i have said it several times. i wish i would have gotten the Factory SSK over the 997 Box. Can berely tell the Diffrence between 996 VS. 997 Box. as for the SSK its freakin awesome!
Appreciate the feedback but I just do not liek the SSk for a DD.
I am speciffically looking for anyone with experience with the 997 standard with the plastic bushings vs. the GT-3 with metal bushings.
Haven't driven the GT3 but I did drive my friend's 997 and I immediately ordered the regular 997 shifter for my 996TT. I'm not interested in the ssk either because I don't want the notchiness when cold. The OEM 997 shifter felt perfect to me.
Neither is "notchy" when cold. The 2010 GT3 shifter has metal bushings which "feel" smoother and more "precise" than the 997 or 996 which have plastic bushings. Also the GT3 is not as close ratio as the true SSK kit but slightly closer than the 997 and way closer than the 996.
All I can say in the top three must you MUST do to a 996.
1. FisterD
2. SSK
3. Proper euro spec suspension
Miami, thanks. That is very helpful. Have a used PSE on the way and can't wait to get it installed. I usually leave home very early in the morning and like the ability to turn the PSE off and leave with less noise. 997 or 2010 GT3 shifter is next
