Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

, they were pretty dirty, not horrendous, but they had obviously not been cleaned, I am surprised they are not on the maintenance schedule for a clean out every 2-4 years.
Leading evidence: 'Clean i am surprised they are not' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Clean i am surprised they are not' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I had Friday off last week and enjoyed playing with my car!!, did a few things and have some comments:
1. Fitted mufflers with the 3.6 bypass
Fitting: bit fiddly but they came off and on ok, its a bit tight in there getting the 3 mounting nuts off but take your time and it is an easy job, on the muffler coupling I suggest sliding the sleeve all the way off, make it a little easier when re-fitting.
Probably the fiddliest job is aligning the tips and tightening them up.
Sound: I have to say at first when I drove it I was a little disappointed as I expected it to be louder, but then the more I drove it over the weekend the happier I am. I would probably like it a little louder but then in reality during normal driving it sounds fine and isnt tedious.
On neutral throttle it is difficult to notice any difference, on slight acceleration there is a little Booming and on full chat it sounds great.
2. Cleaned out my radiators
I posted an update on Saturday as I saw someone else had started a rad thread

, they were pretty dirty, not horrendous, but they had obviously not been cleaned, I am surprised they are not on the maintenance schedule for a clean out every 2-4 years. I vacuumed mine out first then rinsed them, I was shocked by the amount of dirt that rinsed out, whilst after vacuuming them looked clean there was obviously a lot of build up in the cores. I would just say be careful with the pressure washer, I bent a few elements in my eagerness to clean them up.
One thing I would make a note of caution about is the wheel well plastic covers, both of mine broke off the top corner (By the side marker lights), they seem to be very brittle after 8 yrs, definitely remove the complete cover and dont try and bend it back to get to the internal screw as noted on the You Tube bumper removal video.
3. Gillette intake mod
After my initial disappointment at the exhaust not being so loud I read the treads and fitted the cap in my standard intake setup, trouble is I am not too sure how much difference it makes as I should have done all the mods separately.
Couple of questions on this:
1. If you took the resonator box out of the airbox lid are there any benefits to the renovator tube drawing from the airbox as opposed ot the blanking box?
2. Has anyone gone from the cap mod to a fabspeed or other silicon intake tube, does the sound improve anymore?, I would presume it does as you are completely removing that bypass tube and have a smoother intake tract.
2 months in and once you start tweaking you just cants stop!!
I did the silicone hose pipe mod (Schnell) and could not find a lot of difference in the noise, even beyond 4000rpm. I'll probably end up doing a muffler bypass or an exhaust mod later this year.
I just capped off the resonator pipe, I havent done mine yet but measure it thinking is was a simple pipe replacement, unfortunatly is isnt that simple as the airbox and throttle body intake diameter are different
