Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Reported cause
Two creaks that I associated with the door--one turned out to be the trim piece on the inside door handle.
Leading evidence: 'trim piece' (1 discussions report identifying this cause; no attributable repair resolution). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'trim piece' (1 discussions; 1 report identifying it and 0 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Adjust driver side door' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I've used the GummiPhledge, from BMW, religiously.

Suggestion
I will pick-up the triple square drivers and try adjusting the driver side door to make it flush to the body.

Suggestion
Not sure if your noise is striker, seals or something else, but I'd recommend Gummiphledge for door seals.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have an 02 cab, and I keep hearing a weird stress like noise coming from the drivers door. It happens going over bumpy roads, and is more significant when the window is down.
I've never opened the door panel, so I figured I haven't done anything in there to cause it.
The door itself seems nice and tight ...
Anyone have any ideas?
There is a TSB for the door striker squeeking.
Spray with silicone lube on the silver hook thingy that latches the door.
Also i get a squeek from the top of the window and there is a screw thats too long that can be cut down to stop the squeek.
I also get the door seal squeeks when its cold. Anyone got a goot lube/treatment for these ?
Thx
I had a different noise one time which sounded like a loose fastener/screw. Sure enough when I opened the panel, one of the metal fastening screws work its way off it's anchor nut.
Not sure if your noise is striker, seals or something else, but I'd recommend Gummiphledge for door seals. Its a vaseline-like product in a tube that's sold at BMW dealers. Been using it for about 5 years on a couple of different cabs with good results.
I have the same "creaking" or "tapping" sound from the door in my '02 cab.
I will silicone the latch and hook but I want to try moving the chrome door hook to pull the door a notch lower and tighter. What tool are the screws? Has more points in the stars than a torx?
Anyone know?
Are you sure that the noise is not internal? I had a fastening screw come off inside of my right door a while ago and had to remove the paneliing, fish it out and install it back tight to its spot.
I have some TSBs for door noises if you're not sure where the noise is coming from. PM me your email and I'll send you copies.
If you're sure that the noise is coming from the fit of the door itself , your question about the tool for the door hinges, it is more than a torx. It's called
tripple square
and is available cheaply at Pep Boys. (That link I tied with the tripple square is way more expensive than the Pep Boys kind which is only $17 for the set)
Noise and rattle in a Porsche,
I AM SHOCKED
. You will never cure it...you might fix it but it will return. Did they address these issues in the 997? Honestly, a Ford Mustang has a better build quality nowadays, what is wrong with Porsche?
Oops, here is an answer...how about a very stiff structure, very stiff suspension, very low profile tires w/ high PSI, very tight tolerences...the list is long but distinguished. Remove the panel and investigate.
Thank you Mike, PM sent.
I sprayed silicone lubricant into the latch mechanism and the "creaking" is 95% gone. Great tip.
I will pick-up the triple square drivers and try adjusting the driver side door to make it flush to the body. The passneger door is perfect.
Thanks for the tips.
I wouldn't use silicone spray. It doesn't last and attracts dirt. Liquid Wrench makes a great dry spray lube. Penetrates and goes on wet, but dries perfecly dry and doesn't attract dirt. Available at Walmart.
First, I've been in my first P-car for just about a week, so still learning.....
My '04 C4S has a squeak that sounds like it comes from the window seal between the drivers main window and the half window in back. Is there a lubricant that is good to make that area not squeak so much?

This is my favorite treatment for the seals. Adds a nice gloss, does not stay sticky, and actually helped quiet a minor air leak. Mine came in a bottle with a built-in foam dispenser tip too.
Creaks? I have been tracking down minor interior creaks since I bought the car. Solution 1: SRV played rather loud. Trower is great too.
Solution 2: Keep trying.
Two creaks that I associated with the door--one turned out to be the trim piece on the inside door handle. The second was actually the side air vent. Rather than go back to the dealer again, I "fixed" both with small pieces of rubber innertube from my road bike.
I just ordered Gummi Phledge from a site:
www.danase.com
Not sure it will come in but it wasn't listed as backordered or out of stock.
I did see on 1Z's website that it will start being redistributed in the USA late 2008. Fingers crossed.
