Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.
Discussions that suspect a cause
1
0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Leading evidence: 'best way' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'best way' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace dryer' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I've read that I should replace the dryer because the system has been opened.

Personally, I don't mess with A/C lines, but if yours is already discharged from the damage, replace the line that is damaged.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

My car is a 1999 C4 Cab.
The long AC line that runs all the way down the passenger side under the car is coincidentally right beneath where my new jackstands fit around the front passenger side jacking point (get the picture?). The explosion and fog was kinda cool - reminded me of an 80's hairband concert
Now that the show is over, I need that line. I looked at the available diagrams, but they're not making a lot of sense to me. Does anyone know what line it is that I need? Surely, I'm not the only member to do this incredibly stupid and expensive thing.
Thanks in advance for your help...
Thank you. Now I know where I can find it. What I'm trying to figure out is
what
I'm trying to find. The diagram, sans context of where the components are located on the car isn't making sense to me.
Pretty sure you are looking at #6 or #10 in that diagram. My guess is #6 is the one closest to the outside edge of the car, while #10 is on the inside.
But possibly #25 or 26 depending on where those stands broke the line.
Personally, I don't mess with A/C lines, but if yours is already discharged from the damage, replace the line that is damaged. Then have it professionally refilled, tested, and certified to be leak free.
The line you probably damaged is the refrigerant line. Either way replace them both (not an easy task) and have your local dealer or Indie recharge the system.
Thanks. That's probably the best way to go. I've read that I should replace the dryer because the system has been opened. True?
BTW, I
love
your avatar. Old toys are the best...
My son picked out the avatar. I thought it was cool looking.
Many will replace the dryer as well.... I don't feel that it needed. Just make sure that you get the proper amount of oil back into the system.
Thanks for the help, guys. Yesterday, I may have just been too pissed to think. I went out and looked at it tonight and it all made perfect sense to me. Ordered the parts from Auto Atlanta. Thanks again.
