I have seen on a hotrod show a device that has a valve the opens and closes so you run full exhaust or dump it out the side

I have a set for the track, decided to try 'em on the street, talk about LOUD.

definately not for the faint hearted or for those that use their p-car as a daily driver..
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have a set for the track, decided to try 'em on the street, talk about LOUD. I never really noticed it that much( louder )at the track, all is relative I guess.
Do any of you guys actually drive around with these on a daily driver?
I have had them on for a year now...yes, they are loud (but not deafening
). They are most definitely a novelty for me now. I do appreciate the weight savings, that was indeed a bonus. I have gotten used to them. TOO used to them, I'm afraid. I have Akkurat in search of something new for me right now as I am bored with the bypass pipes. I wouldn't mind trying something in between the bypass pipes and the PSE with regard to that aggressive sound.
I have had mine on for a year now. Took them off for the winter and after a state trooper pulled me over on the Taconic Parkway, saying that I woke him up when I drove by. They are fun if you drive in the city. I like to go to SOHO and rev it a little, making all heads turn.
I dunno guys, I drove around all day Saturday, they were deafening. I couldn't imagine pulling into the hospital underground lot with these on, my GHL's sound like a funny car down there.
I usually change them at the track, I may try driving to/fro this time. However, there is usually a cop sitting just outside the gates at Limerock looking for trouble.
I installed mine in the fall of 2004 and love them.
My car came out of hibernation recently and I noticed my neighbor giving me grins the next day after taking the 996 to work.
at 6 am....
i've had mine on for about a year and live in downtown seattle.. needless to say i've been kicked out permentantly from about 1/2 the parking garages in the city for setting off every single car alarm as soon as i enter... and of course everytime i barely even take off from a light, cops assume i'm "hot rodding" by revving my engine.. it's hard to explain to them, that's just the sound the car makes.. but other than that.. they are definately fun.. people in other cars seem to keep away and respect the vehicle.. people don't even attempt to race me when they hear how it sounds
definately not for the faint hearted or for those that use their p-car as a daily driver..
hey robyn,
i was looking for the same thing, between PSE and bypass. talked to erik @ cargraphic and the said their LOUD is louder than PSE. sharky told me the FVD LOUD sounds sweet too and is louder than PSE as well.
not sure which way i'll go. i put the PSE back on after being a little disappointed with the GHL LOUD.
let me know when you decide to change. i would like to hear your bypass pipes before they get switched out
I have PSE and would love to try the bypass--but dont know if i want to trouble with taking PSE off and trying these--or I would love a bypass connector --so I can switch with a quick change--oh well
Mike
Karlooz,
I'm with you on this one. I love the bypass aggressive sound, unfortunately if you have to drive for 2hrs or longer it gets annoying. If there was a easy way to just switch from the muffler to open - That would be awesome!
My GT3 with the bypass pipes is almost a daily driver. It's insanely loud, but I love it!
I live in the city and the echos off buildings, through tunnels and in parking garages is unreal. It's got a great rumble down low, pops & gurgles when you let off the gas or shift from 1st to 2nd and screams at 8k rpm. (Sort of like that new Boxster commercial, but way better.) The only thing that's missing is spitting flames out the tailpipes...
