I replaced Bridgestone S02 Pole Positions with Kumho Ecsta 712's on my previous Pcar (Boxster) and regreted it every damn time I drove the car.

Make the kuhmos that they replaced feel like k-mart tires.

I use the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2's, a bit expensive but I like them since I drive in the dry only.

I chose to stay with the PS Rib (2nd set) over going with the newer PSII at basically identical cost, just because I was so happy with the N1 Rib.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Car had Kumho tires on it when I bought it. Dealer states I never would have lost control with better tires need Recomendations as I will be buying today all 4 new... (If you do not know why please read previous post).
Which Kumhos
Sounds like BS. I have ECSTA SPT and love them, much better and longer lasting then the pzeroes I had before.
Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 would be my second choice.
They have awesome traction (I use them as track tires). However if you use them on the street be prepared for very short life as they heavily favor grip over life.
Michelin Pilot Sport N1 (Rib) is still a good choice, and some prefer it to the non-N PSII (996 sizing)
claiming the Rib has stiffer sidewalls and a little better performance.

I will never again put a 2nd (or third) tier tire on my Porsche.
I have the Pirelli PZero Rosso N4 tires-- love them to death. Make the kuhmos that they replaced feel like k-mart tires. I have tried a LOT of tires on many Porsche's through the years, and these are the only ones that I will re-order, if that tells you anything. They are $$- but well worth it.
They def suck in wet weather, and like Tim says they wear very quickly.
I forget which model ecsta I had before this. I want to say 712? but not sure if that is right, for some reason I just picture it on the sidewall. . .
I just got my Hankook RS-2 and love the tread design and they blow away the Yoko ES-100 I had on. They can take hard braking well and I can not lock them up (so far). The car feels a little soft at first, but when they reach op temp, they get sticky and corney very nicely. I like them so far.
