Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Confucious says " Next time you buy new car check first if it will fit in garage".
Leading evidence: 'Check first if it will fit in garage"' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check first if it will fit in garage"' (1 discussions). Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

If you have a tape measure and your 996 handy, please measure from the centerline of the rear axle to the edge of the rear bumperette (e.g. put a yardstick down to the ground from the rear bumperette, and measure from that point to the center of the rear axle).
I would be enormously grateful.
I would do it myself, but I no longer own a 996
thanks guys.
No, actually it is to see if I need to move the parking stop in my garage. With my 996, I had 1" in front of the car and 1" behind the car. I had to pin my car up against the parking stop to ensure that the garage door did not close on the car.
Although the 997 is a little shorter than the 996, which is good, I am worried that if the length of the rear of the car is different, I might need to move my parking stop (I back into the parking spot). I would hate to bang up a new car the first time I park it in my garage, and my wife and kids are still out of town so I have nobody at home to watch me.
Unfortunately, since we are talking about a concrete wall, I have to be pretty certain about the dimensions.
Thanks all!
Yes, I priced it to move quickly. The gentleman who bought it seems extremely nice, and I was happy that it sold locally to a person who is very excited about the car.
I am pretty excited. I go to pick the car up tonight! I am trying to make sure that it will fit properly in my garage so I don't bang it up on day one!
Wow, TD that car looks incredible!!!
I love the club coupe. Congrats and good luck with the purchase.
Please post your impressions of the car when you get the chance.
Wow, wow, wow, wow, beauty, beauty beauty beauty.... That thing literally gives me goose bumps. What is that color called...... I want money, lots and lots of money..... I want the car of that guy.... (i know ghey song) but excited for TD...
Thanks KJ. I didn't really know Darrell or his wife before I purchased the car from them, but they were both super nice, and I could not be happier. And . . . it fits in my garage.
For everyone's future reference, although the 996 and the 997 have the same wheelbase and same overall length, it appears that the 997 is about 1 1/2 inches or so shorter from the center of the rear axle to the edge of the bumperette.
Thanks for all of the kind comments. I am going away for a short vacation, but when I return I will post pics and scan in some of the supporting documentation.
Gary, the sill guard says "911 Club Coupe"
It still has less than 4,000 miles . . . . unbelievable.
Someone at the end of the block just bought a home had it remodeled and turns out his Hummer was 1 ft to tall to fit in garage. Options make a low rider out of his Hummer or sell house. As of today his house is still up forsale.
Momma,
How many times do I have to tell you that I don't want you to embarass me in front of my friends. They all think I am cool! Plus, it is annoying as hell to keep hearing all of the MILF comments, so, please, drop me off two blocks away from the school. Jeez.
