Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi all ! Got Cab 996 2001 Tip, I've noticed tonite, what someone told me about my car. 2 weeks ago, It was parked in an underground garage when a collegue came upstairs and told me that my hazard front and back lights plus the cars interior dome lights where flashing, no alarm noise or anything??? Went down checked NOTHING! Doors shut properly, Hood, Back engine compartiment latch, all closed properly, car also locked up ok. Same thing tonite, car parked outside next to building, people working in the reception having their eyes on the car. They saw nobody come close near the car... again front & back lights flashing. They call me,I get there 3 minutes later, and nothing. What to you Rennlister buddies think the problem is?? Thanks Tom

POST 3Original post

you really need to give it more then 10 minutes but try this open your door and try to lock the car does the car beep?

POST 4Original post

HMMMMM Maybe those people are messing with you.... How about this. Lets see a pic of the car and I can try to diagnose the problem.....

POST 5Original post

I had a similiar problem a few weeks ago. Coworker called to tell me that my alarm was going off. By the time I saw the car, the siren was off but all the lights were flashing as you describe. I have no idea what happened, and I haven't seen it before or since. German electronics. ****, I'm just happy that the car starts everytime I get in it. Michael

POST 6Original post

I had the same problem with my 2006 Audi A3, it turned out to be a bad door sensor that fooled the alarm system. My blinkers seemed to have a mind of their own, and came on when I was driving, and could not be switched off. This was only one of a thousand other electronic problems with the Audi. I bought the car new, but after 8 months traded it in for the 996, and has been happy ever after.
